No no .. just slide something up under it's lip, and twist to prize it open a bit, loosen the seal and get a mouthtful of the sweet stuff.

But I do cook for a living...so here goes. Using any firm metal utensil...knife, fork, spoon...tap the edge of the sealed jar cap 3 times, a Y pattern works best, and the airtight seal will release. You'll hear a faint hiss of air when it happens. Don't be shy...tap that edge firmly! The glass won't break.

The stabbing through the top of the jar actually works and is my preferred option! I just hate sharpening the knifes, where is the person to do that?

...I've done it myself often when in a hurry. But it'll never seal air tight again.

Just recently I went overseas solo and I almost didnt go because I wanted at least a friend to travel with. However I think it was great for my self worth and a chance to become even more independant. The only thing that I was really bothered about was when having to sit on my own at meal times.

However I think it was great for my self worth and a chance to become even more independant. The only thing that I was really bothered about was when having to sit on my own at meal times. I LOVE travelling on my own especially overseas :) I get to do whatever I want :) I have never felt awkward for eating all by myself in a restaurant overseas - if it is a long wait for the food I might read a book :) :) I HATE going a cruise on my own however - tried it once and there is no way I would do it ever again. Cruise ships seem to be catering for couples and groups only - as a single I felt more like a "baggage" than a customer -...

what I miss the most. But whatever it is, it's nothing compared with missing myself when I am in a relationship, being someone for someone else who doesn't appreciate me. Staying single is better by far than repeating that again.

...and staying in one. Quite difficult when on ones own... Not sure if that's inherently bad or good... You're asking, I'm telling. - Posted from rhpmobile

Waking up next to your partner on your birthday morning and knowing that they want to be there at the start of your special day. (And then it makes it all the more special when the kids come in to wish you a happy birthday and want to know why you guys are "wrestling"! :P )

I have an annoying habit of putting the jar back if I can't open it. Rare event but has happened. Grab another jar and hope you have better luck . Bit like dating! As for spiders, I hate them . I must admit I would definitely ask a man to remove it if I had one. - Posted from rhpmobile

My ex-boyfriend used to dye my hair for me. I hate having to do it myself, but can't afford to have it done professionally.

Listening to the secrets and complaints that couples keep from each other, yet go tell strangers. Be open and honest with each other and trust in each other. But maybe that's a bit too ideal... hence possibly why I'm single :p

Though the big hairy spiders do tickle a little when they walk across my hand. It can be hard to stay still and not frighten them.

Not being able to travel to some places yet. Well, some places like the Caribbean or Pacific Islands would probably be better if I had a girlfriend to go with. I have thought about going by myself, but I'd probably look a bit weird.

to a few things here but the thing I hate the most is mowing the lawn and I can't always afford to hire someone to do it at the moment. I'm into bartering and swaps though.....any takers....your labour for mine ? That will cover a few of the other things I hate about being single - no cuddling and kissing, no snuggling on cold nights and someone to wash the dishes (at least for one night) after I cook . Going to light the fire now so my little ass doesn't freeze tonight.

Not going out to see the latest and greatest, I'm quite happy to do that by myself, but watching a movie by yourself at home without someone to snuggle with is nowhere near as nice.
