really bad, bad day

April 15 2015

Truth be told i've been having a really bad decade, but today i had a bad day. Started with a sleepless night. Almost always happens if i have to be somewhere in the morning. I spend the whole night worrying i'm not going to get enough sleep, and surprise, surprise that becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Then i had a crap shower because the drain blocked and i had to rush to finish before the flood overflowed under the bathroom door. I shave in the shower because its better for the skin, so i had to forgo this too. I was late for my appointment and only once there did i realize i had spilled coffee on my white shirt, which i also hadn't had time to iron. And i had forgotten that i needed to have a photo taken. So a lovely shot of me with red rimmed and black bagged eyes, unshaven, hair lank and stains on my um-ironed shirt. I looked like a drug addict. So nightmare over i bought some subway and on the walk back to the car half my sandwich falls out the back of the wrapper... Why oh why did i say no to the bag? Already knowing this is one i'm going to remember for ages i pay too little attention as i reverse out of my park. The squeal of metal on metal lets me know that the trolley rack was a lot closer than i thought. Two panels bent to crap. Looked at the clock and it was only 10:30 am. At this point i decided to cut my losses before anything else happened. Ate a whole packet of tim tams and went back to bed. Have you had a really crap day like this one? Tell your sad tale here and maybe brighten the day of others.

At least you survived...what kind of Tim Tams btw..?..These micro details of your day are soo important..the wrong sort and whammo ..day spoilt again...wash the shirt asp btw,or stain will set..and buy some lavender oil,put about half a cup in a spray bottle with water ,spray your shirts, the lavender relaxes the fibres ..bingo you never have to iron again..xxFreya

I have plenty of bad, bad days. Totally relate to the whole sleepless night/important meeting scenario...what helps me to feel better (other than junk food) is a poster I have on my toilet wall...101 ways to achieve success...and yes, sometimes just getting out of bed to go to the toilet is the greatest success I can achieve in a day :) But I also have some really awesome days, and really awesome people in my life that make all the bad shit seem not so....bad...xx

and they would have been eaten if i had had a fantastic day. Still so pissed at myself that i pranged the car. Washed the shirt. Stain come out. Didn't know the lavender water thing. Sometimes i hang the shirt in the bathroom while i shower and the steam helps with the worst of the wrinkles. Today it rained... Nothing bad happened, but nothing good happened either. I was really looking forward to a walk. i think tomorrow i will go to the pub and get drunk... I'm a happy drunk... Probably wont be able to rouse any friends to go with me though, because they tend to only show up if i drive them home.

But a crappy day nonetheless! A terrible night's sleep, then woke up feeling lousy. Barely got out of bed all day, and when I did, burnt my hand on a too-hot cup of tea! But tomorrow is a new day! Here is hoping it is a better one for everyone! 😀

I awoke this morning.. saying to my sleep over partner... "Fck.. I feel great.."SHE replied.. with a real grimace on her face... "OMG.. but.. you LOOK terrible"I shrugged.. and left the house for work.. the Cab arived.. and I says.. "Good morning cabbie.. fck I feel absolutely WONDERFUL.."Yep.. he tells me I LOOK disgusting..I am starting to get a BIT conscious.. but. refuse to let anyone get me down.. Everone I met.. I told how wonderfull I felt, and they told me how terrible I looked..Finally.. I knock off work and went to the Doctors..As I walked in the room.. he said.. "OMG.. you look bad mate.."I says.. "But Doc.. I FEEL great...and THAT is the problem.. I feel wonderfull - exquisite even.. but everyone reckons I look bad.. I NEED to know WHAT is wrong..."Doc pulls this great big very old book off the shelf.. STRANGELY enough Titled.. "Politically INCORRECT sicknesses"He starts flipping through the pages.. "Looks good feels good .. Nah.. that is not you..""Looks VERY Wonderful, feels average... Nup.."."Oh.. Oh.. !! HERE we are... ""Feels great - Looks terrible""Your a c***!!!!"

Organise everything the night before like iron shirt etc.... and you will have a great sleep knowing your day is already organised. Thinking your will be late and you will be, thinking that your organised and you will sleep well and you will. It's a matter of thinking positive.

I too, dont sleep well, have a couple of personal issues to worry about, need to find another job which is hard at my age etc etc...Glad you found solace in the Timtams! But I was feeling sorry for myself one day in the shopping mall and I saw a beautiful young woman in one of those motorized wheelchairs. I thought to myself, my worries are trivial when I have my health and mobility. I guess that no matter how bad a day you have, the next day will always be better. For some people, their situation doesnt change. Sorry to be so gloomy, it was just something that was brought home to me when I thought I was being hard done by. Hope you are having better days D!

help lighten your bad day.Recount a conversation with a psychiatrist i had the other day. True story. Him sitting in his chair, scribbling his notes. Looks up and says "Wow.........you have a lot going on." I replied "Well.......I haven't finished yet. You should strap in maybe? I haven't told you the worst part......."

Quoting 'madedelicious' Organise everything the night before like iron shirt etc.... and you will have a great sleep knowing your day is already organised. I wish... Anxiety laughs in the face of preparedness. Though i really should have done my ironing the night before. I normally do, but i thought i'd get a good night sleep instead...(My subconscious chimes in) mwahaahahahaha! You had plans? I laugh at your plans! Quoting 'Any_Whichway' help lighten your bad day.Recount a conversation with a psychiatrist i had the other day. True story. Him sitting in his chair, scribbling his notes. Looks up and says "Wow.........you have a lot going on." I replied "Well.......I haven't finished yet. You should strap in maybe? I haven't told you the worst part......."Bwahahahahahaha! I love doing that to my therapist. They try to suggest exposure therapy, and i say, "So the last 33 years of my life was what?" They never have an answer for that. A few bevvies did the trick this evening. I was all alone as per usual, but a few jovials at the pub started conversation and i forgot my crap for a while. Then they played "Nutbush" and i almost joined the group on the dance floor. 'Almost' is like ripping your clothes off and getting dirty in the mud at Woodstock for me. Too much sympathy in this thread though. i appreciate it, but i was really looking for some stories. Bad days are a part of existence. Someone (or possibly some book... probably Terry Pratchett) once said, "mankind defines itself by itself its suffering". I refuse to believe more of you don't recall a day where it all turned to crap...
