Hows it goin cwhereitgoes. Now, I have done this recently. Things to be aware of. Any apps you use will either have to be downloaded again, or.. are unavailable. This is probably the main thing really. You mentioned music. As long as you have the copies on the HDD theyre easy to whack on the android. (I play music on iTunes and update my main library there, so i had to download an app which made me sync my music to the android)Photos, can be accessed and copied fairly easily from iPhone as (for me) it comes up as a camera when plugged into the computer. Contacts, as youve said.. syncing with gmail, then back onto android is simple. Think that covers data transfer side of things

Is it can be ripped apart and rebuilt to be tailored to your own individual wants and needs. Apple on the other hand the OS, is less fragmented so you take it or leave it. Apples Bluetooth adapter and software quite often are inherently different and is quite often incompatible with stereo units, and other standard adapters. You'll quite often need to periodically reconnect the Bluetooth device, or you'll find the quality of the audio is shite. I'm an apple user personally, but I do at times have regrets about being one. - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting '50zkool' moved over to one of those Samsung Galaxy, the software seems great but the phone is a piece of crap. Replace, replace, replace I moved from iPhone to Galaxy Nexus and it's been issues from the start. I've returned it three times.OP:If you can get the photos onto the iMac/Windows system through iphoto you can find them in a folder. Everything else is pretty easy - except for music. I've kept my iphone just for music, it's the one thing Apple do well.I didn't lose anything except progress and scores in apps.

Totally different beasts I say. If you're into modifying and messing - Android is more accessible for that sort of thing. Personally - I find most, if not all Android phones are made of cheap plastic and are far inferior to the "engineered" feel of an Apple device. Apple just seem to work, don't freeze or lag and do what they say they will do. I bought a Macbook Pro recently, thought I'd take the jump - it was so restrictive and boring, that I returned it and got a Windows based laptop. Comes down to what you want it for? You don't actually say why you want to change, specifically?:)

Stevieboy have to disagree on the build quality. Sure an iPhone might be made of aluminium where a Samsung is plastic based, but that's actually why the Samsung is wayyyyyy less likely to break. The aluminium is very rigid so any shock is transferred throughout all of the phones components and will shatter the screen very easily. The plastic of the Samsung will give slightly and thus absorb the shock in the body rather than transferring it over the whole phone. I've dropped my galaxy down a 3m concrete staircase and it only had a small scuff on the corner it landed on. My mate dropped his iPhone off the table onto a vinyl floor and it shattered. - Posted from rhpmobile

FYI:-Current phone is a 3GS, must admit it has been really good. I'll give it to a mate, he's currently running an old motorola from about 2008, so win for him as well.I'm looking fwd to the improvement in pixels, chipset, battery life etc. Wireless charging also a bonus.Has been shipped and on the way.And good point by Foxy re the rice, I even have a hairdryer lol
