Your Car?

October 12 2015

car

Did a search and if I did it right, this particular question hasn't been asked... What sort of car do you drive...?If money was no concern, what would you like to be driving? I have a Camry Altise 2010 - (Reliable, Family Sized - like the room, Cheap to service and cheap parts due to the number around and the 'generic Repco' etc alternatives (not that I've ever had to buy any in 5 years), Standard model has everything electric). Just an all round nice car... Still the same basic shape and look as the new ones. I'd like a Jaguar... I liked the 'S' type (front end reminiscent of the early 60's little round front grill), but they were discontinued in '08.

won't say what I drive, bit too public as it is, but I will say it could use a steam clean lol Pontiac Transam, had a black one once, wish we'd never sold it, so hope to replace one day. But I'd pass up both of those to sit in the passenger seat of a V8 Commodore or similar with a smoking hot young Italian dude wearing mirrored sunglasses, god I'm horny again, sorry. There's a guy in my area who I've got the serious hots for, got within a few metres of him today and I go weak at the knees sigh Can't concentrate

...I've only owned one...when I was in a long term relationship ; ) It was a Navara, and I didn't miss it when we went our separate ways. As a single man, I'm quite content with my 3 bikes: a Yamaha R1, a KTM 625sxc and a KTM 525 supermoto. All are bitsa's with a few years on each and are road registered. They're different horses for different courses and give me great satisfaction in their own ways.

Quoting 'Single_Guy4U' But being a company car, the company would not agree, and had no choice in the end, had to accept the AWD Captiva (still a Holden though). Always wanted one of those 61-64 Jag or Daimler 420's, beautiful cars. Hey, also like the Pies (meat pies that is), and AB's. :-) I've read or been told and am fairly sure a 'Holden Captiva is a rebadged Daewoo...' (But that's not uncommon with many cars - e.g. Ford Laser/Mazda 323 since 1980, were the same car). The newer Mazda 3's, I don't know about. Ford bought Jaguar Daimler in the 1980's and owned it till 2008's... The 'S' Type I like has many Ford parts. A lot of Mondeo, actually. Engine, transmission, suspension, brakes etc are all Ford or Ford based, manufactured in an 'Escort' Plant in Britain... But the body and interior are the 'up-market' Jaguar leather trim and walnut dash etc. This can ONLY be a good thing... Parts wise and also the fact that, up until then, Jags were well known for spending more time in the workshop than on the road. Before the Ford buy out, the Jaguar was simply surviving on it's 'Name' and past loyalties. The car itself, admitted by Jaguar exec's (and subsequently Ford), was not a very good car at all. Also like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Tuscon range. I had a 2001 Santa Fe and needed a muffler (just a rear muffler) for rego. The genuine Hyundai part was $1500 (in 2006). So I had a muffler shop fit a $90 Repco muffler with a little pipe bending and cutting to make it fit (cost, as I recall, was about $350). That's the biggest issue with cars as I see it. What's it going to cost to fix when the inevitable happens... Hence my love for the Toyota. So numerous that the generic parts manufacturers have almost everything needed at a fraction of the price, if ever the need arises. Sorry... TMI again.

I really don't care what car someone else drives, unless they're really flashy which turns me right off. I think Porsche 911's are pretty, but I'd pick a big all-terrain vehicle like a Jeep I can chuck my wet dogs in without worrying about the interior, and that would take me anywhere. Oh, and obviously because I like to look down on people too.

A Black Porche 911, a Black Lexus SUV (380LX or something), Black Mercedes E350 and a Red Ferrari 308 GTS (earlier model, 80's I think)... Of all of them, he's let me drive the Ferrari, just so I could say I'd driven one... As I recall, it was a DOG of a car to drive... The gears were impossible to shift... Ok Im going to sound like a sunbeam/get smart tragic here, but cant help being brought up with it and remember a lot of very useless sunbeam info.Yeah Max had a ghia in the opening credits in the latter series, but he never drove it in the shows. They threw the ghia in because they were sponsers on the series. But Max still drove the tiger in the show.First few series was the red sunbeam '65 tiger in the opening credits, which he drove throughout the show. Cant remember the name of the actor who played max, but the network gave him a sunbeam as a thank you, which he drove and loved in real life. Yes useless info. Shame I cant remember things that actually could be useful in my life, just the useless stuff😳
