Vaping

September 13 2018

A while ago was topic about deal breakers and alot of people said smokers. Fair enough too they stink. But I'm wondering why about vaping? It's still a type of smoking yes? No? It dose smell alot better. I'm asking because MrB has now stopped smoking ( thank goodness I hate it) but has started vaping. So is Vaping a deal breaker? - Posted from rhpmobile

As ex-smoker’s we have reached a point of really disliking the smell of smokers but haven’t really been that close to someone that Vap’s So can’t really say. Not a massive fan of getting a face full of what ever it is that people who Vap exhale but then my gut feeling is, if you can’t smell or taste it then there’s no big deal for us

Who doesn't mind smokers at all. And by comparison, vapers smell like lollies. Just ask I guess. If they have a problem then it's there's not yours - Posted from rhpmobile

Our research infuriates that electronic cigarettes (vaping) in Australia do contain “therapeutic nicotine “ and hence they too are heavily regulated and may not be sold to minors. - Posted from rhpmobile

You can buy the apparatus (illegal in some states) but must import the nicotine (illegal to sell in all states/territories, illegal to import in half the states). Best do your research again, I googled this in about 10 seconds. As an aside, what difference does the nicotine make anyway? Just say you hate anybody that breathes anything but air into their lungs and be done with it.

How does nicotine affect anyone else? None of their business. Might as well say no to coffee drinkers, even if they had a coffee five hours ago. Good to know it's contentious though, I'll keep it a secret. We all have our things I suppose, I can't stand kissing a woman who's drunk wine, it's disgusting. - Posted from rhpmobile

I wont meet smokers, and i love garlic.... oh, and Blinger... i like wine too 😋😋 and i meet people off here all the time. As many fellow members do. They're called preferences for a reason and we all respect people's different preferences, simple. - Posted from rhpmobile

I fail to see where anyone is moaning or groaning. OP asked if people had an issue with Vapers, like smokers, those that responded in the affirmative did so respectfully. Just stated that they don't like playing with vapers as much as they dont like playing with smokers. No one got on their high horse having a preach. - Posted from rhpmobile

I have friends who vape and it’s not a problem. It doesn’t smell like anything offensive just kind of sweet. It’s barely detectable. Dont have an issue with it. - Posted from rhpmobile

Our response was to MrMrsB79 saying that Vape juice (vaping?) in Australia, does not contain nicotine. Yet we did a quick google search which indicated vaping in Australia DOES contain nicotine. Hence minors cannot purchase vaping equipment. Your final sentence, is not only completely incorrect , but also immature in our opinion. People can breathe/ inhale whatever they want into THEIR lungs. We have no problem with that and could not care less. What we do have a problem with is passive smoking / being exposed to the secondhand exhaled cigarette / vape smoke of others. We also don’t like kissing / sharing saliva with a smoker - tastes like an ashtray, not to mention the yellow teeth and nicotine & tar transfer. Smoke as much as you like mate . Just don’t do it around us. This post is about preferences & choices. Something that we are all entitled to have . PS: erratum : infuriates was supposed to read “indicates “ - Posted from rhpmobile

I’m not a smoker or a vaper but my understanding of the laws in Australia, through friends who do vape and through my knowledge of trade laws from a few months ago, is that you cannot buy a vaping liquid that has nicotine in it from a shop in Australia, you can however buy it online form an overseas retailer and have it delivered through the post (am told NZ is good for this). Regardless, the smell that is attached to smoking is the killer for us, if you vape, with or without nicotine, and we can’t smell it, then we wouldn’t care about it

Yes, vaping in Australia does contain nicotine - but only because people import the nicotine juicy stuff - from New Zealand usually. So, in the factual category - I'm a winner! (Drops his daks, dances around and shakes his pale arse at DC). And as far as not smoking around you? Deal! Win-win for me.

As a non smoker vapers are fine. They don’t smell. You can’t taste it. However smokers you can tell. If a vaper didn’t disclosed they vaped I doubt you would even know.

There are 2 types of vaping liquid in Australia. The first type does contain nicotine and tobacco flavourings of many different strengths and types. The second type contains 0% nicotine and comes in 100's of different flavours.Vapes or E-cigarettes do not produce any actual smoke. It is a vapour like steam from boiling water. IE it is below the combustible temperature of the liquid, and therefore does not produce any tar or carbon monoxide.
