Until you've met someone face to face they are merely words and pics (if you're lucky) in Cyberland and you owe them absolutely nothing. You weren't rude or wrong in my opinion. Even if you do know people personally, feelings can change or maybe you just moved in different directions. In that case I think an explanation is nice but not necessary. The fact you got abused for unfriending someone you don't even know just says to me good riddance!

I've been unfriended by a few, it happens, so be it.... But don't expect me to except another friend request if you unfriend me, that's not going to happen, you unfriended me for a reason, so I guess the reason sticks in my book...💋

I've just done it....unfriend someone that is. Those on my friends list are people I have met and who I am happy to say are people I like and admire.... and who on the whole stay in touch with me through here or in person. I've been thinking of unfriending some people and this forum has reminded me to do so. Feels kind of liberating in a weird way

I inadvertently accepted a friend's request because I use my phone for RHP.Hadn't met them but had chatted. When I realised I could unfriendly them I did. Not because I didn't want to meet or at some point be friends but because I had accepted by accident. They havnt asked why, but I will tell them if they ask. As for the OPs post I agree with everyone else, it's your profile. If you cop abuse you know you've made the right choice and block them. Let them deal with their own issues.

Why one would be offended and get abusive is beyond me but it is very much like what I have read of some copping it for just saying no politely to a meet up. Some people just happen to think they are just soooo important and do not take rejection well. So I wouldn't let it bother you peoples. Shit if I abused everyone for unfriending me or rejecting my messages I'd run out of abuse
