As some of the regular readers of the forums know I have been studying lately and hitting the books very hard. Possibly what you wont know is what I have been studying.   It was my great joy to discover   “The Kama Sutra of Vatsyayana, tr. by Richard Burton, [1883], at sacred-texts.com”.    I’d like to share an excerpt with you and get feedback on how people feel about   Traditional training manuals such as thisThe methods being taughtCultural differencesThe difference a few centuries make      ‘WHEN a woman sees that her lover is fatigued by constant congress, without having his desire satisfied, she should, with his permission, lay him down upon his back, and give him assistance by acting his part. At such a time, with flowers in her hair hanging loose, and her smiles broken by hard breathings, she should press upon her lover's bosom with her own breasts, and lowering her head frequently, should do in return the same actions which he used to do before. In such cases the man should rub the yoni of the woman with his hand and fingers (as the elephant rubs anything with his trunk).  A woman during her monthly courses, a woman who has been lately confined, and a fat woman should not be made to act the part of a man.'   So over to the good people of RHP, do you think our manner of “suck it and see” learning is better or worse, do women need to be trained to please a man in congress? Do women care about his desire being unsatisfied because the poor darling is tired? Or for that matter his permission?  Do men think women need such tutorials? Do women think men need such tutorials? Over to you, while I go back to studying.   Cheers Devine    As some of the regular readers of the forums know I have been studying lately and hitting the books very hard. Love the post Devine,There are 2 ways of looking at it:From a one nite stand point of view:The one nite stgand is usually more about carnal desires so to get it done and over with is probably more the norm (MEANING CARING ABOUT YOUR OWN SELF), what I am saying is that there is probably not enough time to get to know the person you are going to have sex with that nite so its wham bam and thankyou man or mam and the chances of knowing what turns each other on has not been talked about in depth so the sex here is all animal and because it is a one nite stand then each others pleasures are probably fulfilled. How many people have had a one nite stand and not been satisfied??? Now from the point of a long term relationship:Here it difffers a bit because you hope that as you are in a relationship then you you have something in common and do wish to know about what does and doesn't turn each other on in bed LOL So the aim here is to ensure that both of you have been pleasured and the easiest and best way to do that is to talk about it in depth, ie COMMUNICATING talk about what floats each others boats and that way you will ensure each others NEEDS and WANTS are met, in the bedroom at least and this is always good for a relationship. I reckon that men and women can do with a tutorial as none of us are psychic ( I am speaking for the general populace here LMAO) Ciao allPierced

Sex is not an intelectual persuit so far as I'm concerned.it's the place I go in my mind to avoid thinking too much. A dreamy world of sensual pleasure and pain. F@ck my partners! They're only in it for themselves... Lolz. Yeah, that book is for slaves. Slaves to their culture and slaves to their inhibitions. Let the love run free I say. No doubt it remains an inspiring text though, simply by the fact that it collects the experiences of many. Hugs Gazza

Personally, I think there is always more to learn about how to pleasure a man and a woman… my pleasure is theirs as well and it does make me feel satisfied to know that they got as much out of the experience as me.   But the Kama Sutra certainly isn’t just for slaves :-) and it doesn’t just teach you about sex… In answer to Gaz’s reply above, I give you this quote....   “ The Kama Sutra is amoral from beginning to end, advocating all sorts of opportunistic, selfish and unsocial behaviour, including seducing the wives of friends and strangers, raping peasant girls and, if one is a king, capturing and enslaving any woman one likes. In its unabashed advocacy of whatever conduces to one's own advantage, it is like Kautilya's Arthashastra. The closest thing in western literature is Machiavelli”
