Transgender

July 18 2013

I am watching 20/20 Why are these things happening as 2 topics catch my attention.   1 ---more and more children are being born transgender and the second part is how 2 teens met and fell in love and now plan to swap sexes.   2--- Also on a show called embarrassing bodies they have discovered that some men's brains develop more like a females.   I put this here for people just to have a think what the heck will be in the future.   I do have a bad habit of thinking and now will think why is this happening or what has changed to cvause these changes.

may bethere isnt "More" being born transgendered...maybe the atmosphere is just more allowing for people to be truthful with themselves and then others about how they really feel inside. Also transgendered ppl have been noted ,and accepted, in many differing societies going back in history.... So i am really unsure of the point you are trying to raise ?

We are not talking out of the closet or normal sex change This is children ages 4 knowing they are wrong sex and its on the increase. It is also people being born some men with more female brain some women with more male brain --- Please note these people with mixed brain has nothing to do with sexuality but just natures balance is going astray. So does anyone here wounder what is going on I don't expect you to know but just give me your thoughts on the topic.

a few thoughts, one, technically everyone is transgender, we ALL change and adapt the way we present ourselves (our "gender") depending on where we are and what we're doing in daily life, we do it without even thinking about it.   women especially will modify the way they dress to suit what they're doing. (dunno about everyone else but I for one am NOT my most feminine when I'm cleaning my bathroom for instance)   that said, I think you're probably talking about people who change their bodies/sex, and if so I don't have much of an understanding of that but I'm pretty sure it's determined at birth and that it's neurological, a bit like being gay for instance, you're born that way.   A theory about that which made me think is that those things are a form of natural population control.   the theory stated that when our natural environment was struggling (for what ever reason, drought, famine, or any other of many socio-economic factors) to support our species nature finds a way to reduce or slow population growth until the environment can catch back up.   how?   well, a pregnant woman is very volatile hormonally, if she's exposed to heat, cold, starved of food or water etc etc these things all effect the balance of her hormones, and the balance has a great effect on foetal development.   if the foetus is exposed to the wrong balance of certain hormones at certain times during development, then it's believed THAT is how/why they end up differing from the majority of hetero-normative society.   SO, in summary:   Nature is under pressure and can't keep up, so she cuts herself a break until she gets back on top of things, it's the "natural" way of the world.

The only comparison I meant to make between transgender and gay people, is that there aren't necessarily more now than a few hundred years back. I think it's great that society is becoming more accepting of people that fall outside "The norm", as well as the fact that "The norm" itself is broadening.

doesn't make mistakes, nature experiments, some are fit for purpose and some aren't.Nature abhors a vacuum and loves diversity, if there is a niche, it will be filled.Like multiculturalism and gender diversity our culture will be stronger if we recognise and embrace this rather than splitting people off into tribes and minorities.

I very much doubt that there are more people these days that are, than there ever were.In this world, things/stuff is becoming a little bit more open (ain't that swell). Some people feel they can come out and say who they are, or what they would like to be and be ok about that. Unlike the prehistoric (not literally) years where people were dunked for being different (witches etc)Honestly

You would get belted and thrown into a blokey sport to man up. Thes days parents have a wealth of information and agencies they can go to for help in understanding what their child is going through. Its not on the increase. IT allows us to be informed ofa range of topics that wrer not readily available before hand.

and by asking here you can get some informed information from those that have experienced things first hand. and yes turn of the TV or learn that Tv does give some information but stats are easy to manipulate     there are some island cultures where the third gender is the norm, just like bi sexual is a cultural norm in many places.   Look at ancient Rome and other cultures through history   nothing in nature is a problem its only human perceptions and the doctrine of the day that change.   the best thing here is if you come with a closed mind there are plenty to help you open it up.

There have always been women who feel like men and men who feel more effeminate, since the dawn of time....I`m not sure there has been such avenues of expression of this particular aspect of human experience until recent times and by that i mean surgery and the growing social acceptance of human beings as human beings no matter what race, creed or gender..But i would add into the mix that there is research that shows that with huge levels of estrogen are now in the watertable in many countries due to a variety of reasons and that this could augment and exaserbate such things, especially when it comes to an issue like transgender people. In other words humans always ''adapt'' to the environment and something like water would have incremental and then exponential effect on such things.....I`m not saying..''this is the reason'',i`m merely pointing out that there are a variety of reasons why humans feel and think and experience the lives we lead the way we do and its almost impossible to put ones finger on a particular path to an answer. We all live subjectively through our own eyes and tbh anyone that tells you your experience is invalid has no wisdom of what life is about in the first place....And with that in mind, live and let live.....Much loveIrish x
