Don't use protection for oral sex is because the chances of transmitting any STIs are greatly reduced. Your salvia kills a lot of potential nasties. Just remember life is an STI Tha is one hundred percent fatal.

Some interesting research coming out of 3rd world countries is circumcision is the next best thing to a condom to reduce STI. Listen to your potential future partners deal breakers could be, overseas trips to certain countries, sexual habits in regard to anal a visit to a sex clinic for a check up gets all the facts in front of you.

Yes there is still a risk of getting an STI from performing oral but it is a lesser risk. I am sure that of a women had unprotected sex with someone with an STI the chance Of her getting it are probably close to 100%. So it's all part I the risk assessment. So fwbandsome, would you let a guy come in your butt?

Life is risky, but certainly condoms for any penetration reduces risk...and thats a good thing! We also agree with the above - know a bit about your sex partners before jumping into bed with them :) - Posted from rhpmobile

The only man that gets this from me is my husband. If this is a "deal breaker" for some RHP men, then it's just too bad !!! There's no "great loss" as far as I can see. Men who think that "fellatio" is a "MUST" to achieve "Great Sex", don't know that this is a fallacy. It's not just about the SEX. It's about INTIMACY. If a man chooses to "go down" on me, that is his prerogative. I do not force nor do I deny him. Hopefully, it stands true that the "fewer the sexual partners, the less chance of contracting a STD/STI." This is why I'm so choosey with my men. I like to choose men that only have a few and not many, sexual partners themselves. Amy

Quoting 'Funlover71'Your salvia kills a lot of potential nasties. You know that salvia is banned in Australia, right? However, I'm sure that smoking it kills lots of things, including a few brain cells.

Jokes aside, I agree with Funlover. Saliva is a wonderful barrier, which other orifices are missing. One time a guy queried me wanting him to put on a condom, because it was (and I quote) "only anal". He was of the belief I shouldn't worry as it wasn't like I could get pregnant that way. That was the end of him.

Not an attractive trait but each to their own. OP I'd never even heard of dental dams until I came here and only saw my first one just before xmas. Would I want to use one/have one used on me? No not really, then again maybe I should put it down on my fucketlist? Not sure what the sensation is like for a man wearing a condom whilst receiving oral. I'm not a man. I have however been involved and seen multiple partners stop and change condoms for each and every person involved in the encounter. Absolutely zero unprotected sex. Now that to me, in this scene; is safe sex. As safe as practicable without abstaining completely. Just saying.

Which STDs are transmitted via oral sex? If a person is infected with any of the following STDs, there is a risk they could transmit the infection via oral sex. The most common STD transmitted via oral sex is herpes. There are two main types of herpes simplex virus (HSV): HSV type 1, which usually causes cold sores around the mouth, and HSV type 2, which generally causes sores around the genitals. If a person has HSV type 1 and they give oral sex to another person, the herpes could be transmitted to the genital area of the other person, causing genital sores. This process can also work in reverse, with HSV-2 transmitting from the genitals to the mouth of the other person during oral sex, though this is rare. Gonorrhea can easily be transmitted via oral sex. The infection is usually passed from infected genitals to a person's throat, but can also be passed from an infected throat to a person's genitals. The body will almost always naturally clear the throat of the bacteria that cause gonorrhea within three months, although infections in the genital tract will usually require antibiotics to cure. Syphilis is easily transmitted during oral sex if a person’s mouth comes into contact with an open sore or a skin rash caused by the infection. It is possible (but thought to be not very common) for the human papillomavirus, which causes genital warts, to be transmitted through oral sex. Chlamydia can infect the throat via oral sex, although this is thought to be uncommon. People with chlamydia may not have any symptoms and may not be aware they are infected. The hepatitis A virus is found in human faeces, and may be passed on during anal-oral sex. Hepatitis B is contained in sexual fluids and blood and may be transmitted during oral sex in a similar way to HIV (see below). Hepatitis C is generally only contained in blood, and will only be transmitted if there is blood present during oral sex. Gastrointestinal infections and parasites may be passed on during oral contact with the anus. Can HIV be transmitted during oral sex? HIV can pose a small risk for both the active (person giving the oral stimulation) and receptive (person receiving oral stimulation) partner. Transmission from an HIV positive receptive partner to an HIV negative active partner may occur when the active partner gets sexual fluid (semen or vaginal fluid) or blood (from menstruation or a wound somewhere in the genital or anal region) into a cut, sore, ulcer or area of inflammation somewhere in their mouth or throat. The linings of the mouth and throat are very resistant to viral infections such as HIV, so infection is unlikely if they are healthy. Transmission from an HIV positive active partner to an HIV negative receptive partner is generally believed to be less common. This is because HIV is normally only present in saliva in very low levels that are not sufficient to cause infection. The only risk in this scenario would be from bleeding wounds or gums in the HIV positive person’s mouth or on their lips, which may transfer blood onto the mucous membranes of the other person’s genitals or anus, or into any cuts or sores they may have. - See more at: http://www.avert.org/oral-sex.htm#sthash.gRu8WNeU.dpuf

Quoting 'fwbandsome' Isn't any risk a risk no matter how minor especially when it can be fatal !! I don't understand your point. So you are saying you shouldn't have sex at all because it is too risky? Oh, but I see you use protection for all activities. So condoms for oral sex and dental dams for everything else. Just a question. Do you also use latex gloves for touching and fingering? People always forget about that, then they touch themselves or their mouth, etc.

with all woman and men .protection is required ...unless you are in a relationship with someone ..with woman well it is a must ..then you would know by the smell it smell bad it is bad .......then you have other ones you wouldn't know about ..life is a risk we take every day ..why would you not prevent something if you could do so ...choices are made and some are broken so be true to yourself and know that what decision you make be your own

Quoting 'fwbandsome' Yes Meeka , I use latex gloves as i mentioned in my original question !!!! Nope. I didn't see any mention of gloves. Please point it out to me where you mention anything about you using condoms, or gloves, or dental dams or that you practice safe sex. Nope... you mention absolutely nothing about it. In fact I took your question to mean that you thought the woman was being silly for insisting on a condom when they didn't for oral. Particularly as you it sounds like you understand that she would ask for a condom to prevent pregnancy but to me is sounded like you thought it was unreasonable to ask for a condom for STD purposes.

Yes where I was looking into different contraceptive options the woman at the clinic showed me a female condom. They were hideous. Seriously I can't image anyone using them. Nobody would feel anything. So did you use one DG? Sounds like you did. Good lord... Did you freak out when you saw the thing? Lol

Why do some people freak out so much over getting a common STI? Seriously most Of them are easier to get rid of then the common cold. It really isn't a big deal, well apart from AIDS. it does sound quite clinical Lovinit. Dental dam to kiss, for oral, gloves before touching anything really.... You may as well be in a body bag! Lol. I prefer to accept some risk is involved in sex, that is life.
