And sad, as talent does not always have to use tits and arse to get attention.you can be sexy, aka pink for example without being that pathetic and lewdwhat a stupid young woman, and this is why I also do not agree with dogging where there is a chance that a family may wander into your line of visionone guy told me he had sex with his girlfriend in a MacDonnalds toilet, another dip stick I think that picture of Will and his shocked kids said it all.

Dear Society, If you think a woman in a tan vinyl bra and underwear, grabbing her crotch and grinding up on a dance partner is raunchy, trashy, and offensive but you don’t think her dance partner is raunchy, trashy, or offensive as he sings a song about “blurred” lines of consent and propagating rape culture, then you may want to reevaluate your acceptance of double standards and your belief in stereotypes about how men vs. women “should” and are “allowed” to behave. Sincerely, Dr. Jill

Someone must have been advising her. She didn't orchestrate / choreograph that routine herself. A lot people forget this. So a bit of the blame should go to MTV and the record company for condoning it. But even then - the fact her name is being mentioned on RHP, is a success. Mylie can only be blamed for being stupid. But I'm sure her decision is going to make her a lot of money.I laughed, I cringed and I gasped. She barely sung a word of her songs, instead she let her tiny non-symmetric (but still sexy) ass do the singing. Chaotically twerking all over the stage - ass up, face down like a cat on heat. Definitely not appropriate - but I'm glad it happened.I couldn't help think she was inebriated on something other than alcohol or red bull.

I watched about 6 minutes of her performance at the VMA online, I didn't like her over the top dance moves, but it's an entertainment business and it's kind of the trend of today's music with the young blood, so what can we do?!? It is sad that some artists have made it difficult for little children to watch music entertainment these days, but that's the way the world is moving forward at the moment, so again sigh!!!- Posted from rhpmobile

Have absolutely NFI what this thread is about... Obviously helps to explain my social awkwardness 😄 But I do think we have enough sexualisation of prepubescent children. Hp xo 💌 Learning about pegging, chuck Taylor high tops, crazy monkey sex and Miley Cyrus all in one week... !

She is a young girl experimenting with her sexuality etc. What is wrong with that? Is she supposed to say a good little girl like she was in her show? It was not even a minute of some sexing dancing. Seriously, all the music clips are the same. What makes this any different. It doesn't. As for kids watching..... come on. So violence is okay but being a bit saucy.... oh dear lets burn her at the stake. It is a gross over reaction. Mind you it is an excellent business strategy, the you tube clip I just watched has already had 6.4 million views.

My Facebook today presented the following statement regarding the issue:Miley Cyrus!! What have you done?!If the media are totally shocked and appalled now because you just shook your covered tushy on the telly and clearly demonstrated you're not a virgin anymore (the tongue gave it away, not the moves)... What kind of reaction will they have next year when someone releases your sex tape? It's getting there... Getting there. Hopes up people.. Hopes up! ;pAll you 45yo-sexually-frustrated-tv-commentators-that-dress-like-a-grandma-and-don't-know-what-being-sexy-means-feeling-inadequate-cause-you-don't-have-a-tight-tushy-like-that... Save some of your oppressive conservative outdated judgemental comments for that please.. jeeez. Followed by a funny picture of the moment :p haha

she's an entertainer, people want to be entertained(good or bad), it makes people talk about it, who really knows if she actually genuinely likes doing that sort of stuff. She might, to extent but maybe not in a front of a crowd, we won't really know(though apparently she wants to be black lol). Not everyone wants to be a stripper/prostitute/work 4 jobs etc etc. People do what they gotta do to make a living, sell records, provide for themselves.

I am all for sexual freedom and expression. But in the context of the situation I think her performance is one big joke. Every year MTV does the same thing - they try to pull off a publicity stunt that has nothing to do with music.I don't think for a second that the reaction received was not expected or planned. Simply put this was purely about publicity and money. Miley knew it, the record company knew it and so did MTV.And that's where my discontent starts. I don't watch MTV - but I am involved with music. I think there are many female artists that people are listening to now and that are prodiminent in the music scene, whom communicate notions of female empowerment without stripping to skin coloured underpants and twerking - Azealia Banks, Grimes, Kimbre, Lana Del Ray... (the list is endless). I don't hate Miley - but I question her motifs. And I guess it's subjective me saying she took it a step too far - but I've never cringed that much with Madonna, Lady Ga Ga or Beyonce, maybe I'm getting to cynical.Lyrics to blurred Lines"What do they make dreams forWhen you got them jeans onWhat do we need steam forYou the hottest bitch in this placeI feel so luckyHey, hey, hey"Kimbre - Warriors"What am I thinking (if you're so sure it's rational)While the world's shrinking (but that don't make it logical)What am I thinking (if you say I'm just an animal)I feel like I'm sinking (you can't explain away the way I feel)"

A couple of years ago my oldest son, about 6 at the time was singing in the car about "men in trucks". It confused the hell out of me as even though his tone was off it was obviously a pop song. Men in trucks? Weird! Then came a line of the song about "last Friday night" and "do it all again". Aha! I thought a hint......but what is this men in trucks bit?A bit of googling later I worked out that he was singing bits of Katy Perry's song. Then the lyrics......hmmm men in trucks.....what?Only link I could make was that men in trucks was what he heard when she sang about a ménage a trois. So between that experience and listening to almost every rap song which seems to be about how the singer can beat anyone in a fight or shoot them, has a stack of money and has sex anytime, anywhere with any girl.....I came to the conclusion that there is a great deal out there that is not really meant for young ears but which they are exposed to pretty much all the time. What's the answer? Is it bad, good or does it fly under the radar? I have no idea.

Even if that picture of the smiths was not right it does not negate what she did. Lady Gaga can be just as bad at times. My daughter is a singer, and toured in England and Italy and as she refuses to take her clothes of she will no doubt not reach the lofty hights of people that do.so you need to have a talent to get naked as well as sing. Unless your adel, and that woman I do admire and pink as they do no need to show it all or step over into that invisible line.Kids are sexualised enough as it is, without the people they look up to showing them how to bump and grind in their undies at four years old.I am no prude but how far do we need to go , next will be giving the guy a blow job on stage and your right he is no better with his words , if your words go against the social mores of the time you live in ,or even the law then it can cause problems I think.who knows in ten years time it may look tame, but right now its just stupid and sordid, both of them. cheap way to make a name for themselves, when it takes a shit load of hard work to get your talent noticedanyone can get their tits and arse noticed Quoting 'paintme' Elvis.

Sincerely, Dr. Jill I had never heard of Robin Thicke prior to 'MileyGate' (only of his father who must be so proud), so decided to look up the song 'Blurred Lines' and watched the uncensored clip. Was hardly surprised that it's a load of sexist garbage, complete with topless models and Pharell Williams to lend a touch of 'musical genius' (cough). His performance at the VMAs was exactly the same: sexist garbage where he struts around fully dressed while Miley is as close to naked as she can get, twerking her little (figuratively and literally speaking) ass off. Yeah yeah it's her choice and she can express her sexuality any way she wants. Well, it's getting really boring that the only way these young female pop singers think they can express sexuality is to basically wear as little as possible and make it very clear to the world, "LOOK AT ME I'VE HAD SEX SEE I'M NOT LITTLE ANYMORE YO." And yes I'm fully aware that it is a circular trend: as more girls do it to more extreme levels, the consumers of the music and 'society' in general expect more of it to more extreme levels, and it all drives itself in a lovely cycle of very few clothes and terrible 'music' (I use the term loosely, there's many reasons that I haven't followed the mainstream pop charts since about 1994).Personally I don't think Miley can pull off the look she's going for, because she still has a babyface and to me she still looks like a child trying to imitate an adult. Plus there's the whole issue of her, as a privileged, rich, white girl, trying to appropriate black Dirty South / Crunk hip hop - mainly associated with pimping and drugs; she's already made the drug references in one song - and the Ratchet culture with the gold mouth grills, extensions, gang signs etc. The origins of these cultures are associated with underprivilege and she's basically trying to use the whole thing as a selling point for herself. And I think she looks ridiculous doing it. But hey, she's rich and famous, she can do whatever she wants.

The girl is having the common problem of most loved child actors, and for her it's getting the image of her as Hannah Montana out of our heads. She wants the world to see her as a grown independent sexual woman. We seem to forget about Madonna, and when our own Kylie M started spicing it up abit. My concern is not watching Miley suffer a seizure while twerking in next to nothing, but rather when I went to Target to buy my goddaughter some clothes for her upcoming bday and I see lacy thongs for tweenies and a mum considering buying them. Video clips are all raunchy these days and kids are being forced to grow up with beauty pageants etc...thats what gets me and makes me mad- Posted from rhpmobile

I agree with much that has been said, and I would add my own question. Is Miley so surrounded by 'yes men' that no-one has the balls to say to her "Maybe this isn't a good idea, you look cheap" Surely we all have friends who have our best interests at heart and will tell us when enough is well and truly enough.I'm fine with her presenting herself as she has, if this is what she wants to portray, then let her go for it. But she and people in general must realise that individuals will have individual opinions. Personally if she were my daughter, she'd be getting either a good smack on the bottom she so freely shows off, or at the very least a very serious mother/daughter discussion. OP, I agree with you in what you have said regarding protecting children/teenagers. Just because this stuff is everywhere in our society today doesn't necessarily make it right. Somewhere, sometime, we have to look around us and feel a little twinge for the loss of our innocence. In-your-face everything doesn't mean our society is any better for it. There is much to be said for a little mystery.Viking

First of all, this is the girl who Pole Danced.... that's right.... Pole danced.... on an ice-cream truck, at the kids choice awards... no less than three years ago.... and you're expecting her to clean up her act? Oh that's just fucking naïve. Second, Eminem was trying to be black and Michael Jackson tried to be white. In the end, they both succeeded. So its hardly a race issue. As for pervasive and misogynistic rap culture.... its always been like that with the niggers and the hoes and the smacking of the bitches. Its not a new phenomenon. The whole movement is predicated on predatory, materialistic blacks. Why are any of you really so shocked? Our culture breeds female entitlement mentality, and with the post-feminist fallout and the ensuing feminist fallacy that also and equally pervades our culture... why are you so shocked? Miley Cyrus has every right to be a slutty role model to future generations and it may get worse over time, but its not just her. Its the morally bankrupt and socially backward society that allows her to exist. This is the consequence of Helicopter Parenting, Reality TV and the poisonous female-entitlement mentality that is poisoning our youth culture and making men like myself into violent, sexually frustrated misogynists. I don't like it, but I can't exactly ignore it. The only choice I have is to live with it and defend myself against the hordes of entitled when the situation calls for it, only to be crucified for doing so when the time comes. Next time I want to see Miley fully naked with a perfectly waxed cunt so she still looks like a twelve year old girl.... and if you can't tell... I'm being sarcastic, and yes, the premature sexualisation of our youth is a serious issue, But so is our right to see barely dressed jailbait booty-shaking at what is essentially a corporate industry shill attended by people who for all intents and purposes aren't even representative of the average human being.

Even if only to stir the shit. Ok. Lets look at this rationally. We have one guy saying he hates (a very strong word) people (of which there are too many on the planet anyway), with no balls to stand up for morals (which are relative) and others who are naïve to decide (this is preaching a big brother nanny state and should be stopped before its too late..) * and to the guy who made that statement.... aren't you one of the worst offenders by saying something and not doing something? Which in essence would make you a hypocrite... correct? Now onto the real meat of the issue. The world lost its innocence after WW1 historically speaking. Theologically speaking we lost it when that bitch bit into an apple. Technocratically speaking we lost it with the invention of the internet. The premature sexualisation of our youth is hardly the first instance or even the first strike. I gotta say though, regardless of whether Mley Cyrus was my daughter or not, I'd still very much like to give her a smack as she is a pure, brain-dead sex object and I applaud her for her complete lack of good life choices that is so common with Hollywood incest these days. Having a serious discussion with her about anything would be a waste of my breath. Just because the stuff is everywhere doesn't make it right, while true is a moral maxim that bears no economic relativity whatsoever to the real world. And I'm sure the silent moral majority do agree with you in principle, though in practice you've all failed miserably as parents, particularly to keep your children away from this supposed degenerative filth. Innocence is long gone sure, but you sat back and watched it happen so in essence that makes most of you in your 40s with children a culpable accessory after the fact or at the very least a contributor to the decay through your passive-aggressive opining and your sheer failure to act. Sure, society isn't any better for it.... and there is much to be said for a little mystery and I agree in principle sure, but I look around and I see the stark opposite has become a reality. I suppose if you want a little mystery these days you have to go to the middle east... the land of milk and honey where people are still innocent, modest and still cover up occasionally... so much so that all they show off is their eyes. And hey, they even have a spiritual foundation to their beliefs. But oh no, we can't become Muslim because that's would be to the moral and ethical decay of the west, assuming it hasn't already happened. Personally I'd really like to see Miley Cyrus perform in a burqa made of the American flag as she sings her newest hit... Jihad in the USA :-) Yep. I would pay to see that. * Some Sarcasm may be used

I don't understand what all the whining is about. If you don't like seeing young good looking women shake there ass on tv. Use the damn remote ! That's what its there for . Change the channel to home and away or if that's not on , just go read the bible for the 10th time . You don't have to watch it . Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be there. Mtv is notorious for stunts like this. Again, why would they let there little kids watch it , when they know mtv has adult themes. Personally , I don't find miley that attractive , but I thought her performance was spot on . Good work Miley !

She did use a lot of tongue...lol. To the point she looked like she had a bad taste in her mouth. As previously mentioned my issue isnt her or other raunchy celebs, but its what we allow the young to see or the clothing items you see in store for tweenies.. (e.g at a bbq I was at there was a 12yr old in full makeup, wearing a black tight top with number 69 covering it in glitter and she's walked in with the parents. I wouldn't allow that but that's me) At age 9 I was cheekily raising to see their bloomers, or pinching them just because i was mischievous and found it fun being the naughty kid at school. Now you hear 11 yr olds suck dick and at 12-13 try sex... I was still with an Atari/NES and action figures even if I loved catch n kiss and didnt think girls had germs that make boys sick.- Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'Jay_Me'I think we're on the same wave length here... ? I agree that kids shouldn't be exposed to adult themes . But at the same time , its up to the parents to look after there own kids ,not mtv , not miley cyrus , not the viewers that may enjoy seeing women shake there ass on stage . If people don't want there kids to see adult stuff on tv , its an easy solution. Turn it off or change the channel . If there were kids in the audience watching miley , then that's the parents fault ,not miley or mtv or me . I see this all the time .Parents seem to like blaming everyone else for there problems except themselves. For example. The other day I jay walked through a red "don't walk sign", the parent standing there told me if her kid would of followed me I would be to blame. I said her kid is her responsibility not mine. She should of held her kids hand. Its got nothing to do with me or mtv or anyone else. Look after your own kids!! lol Its not our job ok ?

A woman or man for that matter that has to TRY and be sexy by grinding on a pole or grabbing her vagina and sticking her tongue out is a complete turn off. The reason people are talking about it is because she looked like a stupid little attention seeking whore not because she was such a great entertainer hahahaa

... Made me fucking piss myself, good shit. I don't know why people are even talking about this, ya'all realise that you're doing exactly what the people behind Miles's act want you to do right? Let it go, cease to give a fuck, the publicity train runs out of steam when people stop blowing hot air to fuel its engine & if everybody would just do the decent thing & switch off when this shit came in TV - if you don't like what you're seeing - if they STOP gossiping about it, if they STOP buying the shitty trash mags the story is publicised in, if they just IGNORE internet articles & tell anyone who wants to tell you about it that you're not interested then y'know what? Something magical will happen: The moment will pass & the people who want to make money out of young "talent" will think, "Hmm, we didn't really generate enough buzz out of that last stunt, record sales haven't gone up, perhaps we need to try a different approach..." It's adult outrage & desire for censorship that has always & will always fuel young children's perceptions of what is edgy and/or cool. Honesty, I know it sounds too simplistic to work but it's the truth; just stop giving a fuck & IGNORE that shit, don't tell me you can't, it's everywhere, bullshit, ACTIVELY IGNORE IT, if someone wants to tell you about it tell them you'll slap them in their silly gossip face if they utter one word about it your presence & tell them they're insulting their own demeanour & intelligence by even wanting to talk to you about it, the matter is beneath you & you don't give a two-penny shit about it.- Posted from rhpmobile

We are on the same page as far as the performance goes. But thats where it ends. I'm sure no one would take their kids if you they knew Miley's performance was as risqué ? In her defence ' I'm sure there are many females who'd love to have a sexy lil figure and shake their arse like that , even if its only in the mirror or for their man. We differ on blaming parents for anything and everything . It's hard enough rearing kids without having to worry about others adding to the burden. But I guess any parent watching you doing your J walk could point you out as that's what you don't do . ?

Agree, the song is quite good also.. A lot less provocative than some of the stuff Madonna and some of the others have done. ? Obviously she's trying hard to shake the sweet lil Miley image we're used to.. ATM shes suffering growing pains, wasn't we all there at some time ?

We really liked the vid . Not a big fan of pop music ,but that was a pretty good song and the video clip was really well done. Still cant believe theres so many people out there freaking out over her nudity in it lol you would think by 2013 people would be use to abit of tits and ass lol I don't get it , to me the female body looks amazing , nothing to be groused out about .

The song wasn't terrible, though I wasn't a fan of the chorus. The licking of that sledgehammer wasn't shocking, just dumb in my opinion, it almost looks like an after thought. "Wait, your bare pussy isn't shocking enough anymore, let's fake some fellatio." As for bare-backing a wrecking ball that's covered in concrete dust: That's just asking for trouble.
