Quoting 'RHP101' It'll keep them in check. - Posted from rhpmobile I had mice because we live next to a paddock and on occasion when we expect a lot of rain, they start coming inside. I am not a cat person but the kids wanted a cat and my eldest son's girlfriend was trying to get rid of her cats, we had mice so it all fell into place that we take the cats. Now the cat hair is driving me mental and the annoying meowing at seemingly nothing, them rubbing up against me when I wear black, stinking cat food, cat fights but we do not have mice!

If you see more than one mouse, there is a nest!!!!! Time to call the professionals, at least they can track the nest..

Advises that when she and Norm were on the soldier settler farm in the Mallee, indeed the only thing that halted the mice plague was a preponderance of pussies xxQ

Worked for me during the mice plagues in the Mallee too (in my youth). Swing as hard as you can, and repeat. Best fun ever. - Posted from rhpmobile

Any pussy that meows is not welcome at my place. And if there was one at my place that made that sort of noise, I think I'd freak out.

About the little girl who told the class on news day that her mummies ginger pussy was in Playboy. The teacher contacted the mother saying they weren't there to judge but maybe they should screen what they tell their daughter.... Mum replied with "I am the editor of Playboy magazine and our ginger cat Tomboy had a picture in there". Sorry, had to tell it..... BTW our pussy keeps furry critters out of our house ;).

Didn't Tampons used to be called a Mouse ? also I can remember a book at school called Mice and Men. the idea of Mickey Mouse may have been conceived by someone High on acid ? Ohh yeah, have you seen that mouse on youtube, where it stops running in the wheel, and spins round and round ? also if you block up all the holes in your house leading outside, they can't get in ! so there it is, everything I know about Mice. I can't believe I just wrote all that shit ! lol

It this a spelling error for the RHP Spelling Nazi's who haven't picked up on it yet.. Should the 'M' be "L"... as in LICE? Foxy

Try a product called ratsak. It comes in ready to go bait stations. The mice eat it, get thirsty, go looking for water to drink & that activates the poison. Works for me.

Dumb question .... Do they snuggle up in bed with you or kids for the warmth or are they actually scared of humans ? And if you got bitten would you be worried ? I have no idea about them as you can read ... I'd rather a cute sexy fellow rhper(s) in my bed ... :) - Posted from rhpmobile

the problem with that is that they die anywhere and you get the dead animal smell :(

Quoting 'RunAwayJoinCircz' Oh god when I lived in the UK I had an Aga oven, poisoned a mouse and It died behind the oven, slowly cooked for a few weeks....that smell will always haunt me, yuck. Yep, couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from once. Finally made my way into the ceiling to discover two maggot-infested rotting rat carcasses. Poison. Two thumbs down. Would not recommend. PS. Like tawmworthguy I thought this might also be about "Mice and Men". I got all excited.

What about those plug in the wall ultra sonic things they keep advertising they might be an alternate choice. No picking the bodies up or the smell of the dead ones going through the house.

My dog caught a half dead mouse once and hid it in her dog house. I didn't realise until the pile of maggots got so big they started falling on to the deck... Of course I was terrified my dog had ingested the poison too.

Stick a small pellet of dry dog food to the trap with peanut butter, it sticks like shit to a blanket, I caught about 15 mice with the one bait over 2yrs. They also love ham/bacon, but it has to be replaced & has to be tied to trap. There are also wax rat blocks avail from Stockfeed stores, they are very effective, but highly toxic to children & dogs, so care must be taken when placing them, can be screwed down. If u want the name contact me. Go fwd & conquer, "Miss Brave Mouse Hunter". Cheers P.L.

It would be a talented pussy that could get rid of mice. And I think if the lice win and get onto the pussy they become crabs don't they........

This one is not for the squeamish...set a long neck bottle on a bench, stabilise it it won't roll away, set it with neck extending out over the edge, grease the neck with butter, place some bread and peanut butter in the end of the bottle, place a half full bucket of water under the end of the bottle. The mouse will go for the bread and peanut butter slip off and fall into the bucket of water, since it can't get out it will eventually drown...or get put out of its misery. Politically correct...NO effective...Yes!

They're fairly pricey, but you can get a trap called the 'Nooski' or something similar. Utilises the rubber green ring that used to be used for castrating lambs. I find grain (museli or whatever) works well, right in the back of the trap, they stick their head in, trip the trap and end up with a little green ring choking them to death. They never get more than about 100mm away from the trap, easy to sweep into a dust pan. The other choice is the cheap plastic clamshell style trap from Bunnings, about $1.50 a piece. Catch a mouse and just drop the whole lot in the bin if you don't want to deal with them. I've got baits in the roof and have had the occassional awful smell from a mouse dying in a wall cavity, but caught a bunch of mice with the traps, got the pro's in to refill the baits in the roof and there was still plenty of bait around, just didn't take their fancy. I believe the baits are only a problem for dogs if they consume a decent quantity. If they were to pick up one poisoned mouse it might give them a crook gut for a day, but not going to kill them. Just make sure they can't get to the full packet.

I think the filling in the hole(s) and buying a cat is the cheapest option however I rent so I would have to smuggle the cat in oh and feeding them ratsack ... the mice not the cat!

The landlord may get the house done by a professional. I think it's harder to get rid of crap tenants than mice, I just went through that. Sad thing is the guys were homeless before ,and in one day on gum tree I got 50 applicants and three offered way above what I ask for. Must be dam hard in wa to find a rental. Talk to you landlord.
