Why are males Who womanise & sleep around seen as STUDS, Whereas females who sleep around are seen as SLUTS ? Therein lies your answer . Sex is male dominated generally, in our opinion

Burlesque (male and female) are seemed different again. Commonly they all perform to music and strip while dancing. I think the thing that might be different is not so much the performers but the venues and audience which vary a lot. Shells.

It's an interesting question, and I think the answer lies in where the power is. There's a perception that women who strip do so because it's a last resort, an act of desperation, one step before sex work. Not my judgements, to be clear - I think that's the common perception however. But there's not the same assumptions about men who strip. As for burlesque, I think whilst it has its roots in stripping, the development of the genre as a feminist and artistic style of performance tends to separate it from traditional stripping for most people. It's still taking your clothes off to music - I should know, I do it! - but the power dynamic and intention is shifted,

That male strippers always come on dressed as firemen, policemen, construction workers etc etc. That's because even when a man's naked a woman wants to know that he has a job. When men go to see female strippers they want that woman to have one job and they want that job to be stripping.

....perception definition is really just deception ... isn't it? Who cares what anyone else thinks if it harms no one and makes you happy? Take it off, leave it on, charge for it or give it away...it's all the same no matter the linguistics. Just be sure to invite me to the party! ʗɱ

Id much rather go to female strippers than a male strippers!!! I'm not even Bi.... dont like females at all...... but a trip to the strippers with hubby or friends is always good fun. You'd never catch me at a male strip joint though. Do the actual strippers actually care if there's a disparity though?

I am going to go a step further and ask with the advent of pole dancing as a fitness activity and emerging sport, when and how do we strip back the negative connotation of pole dancing vs stripping for money whilst drunk guys leer on ?. (Or did I just answer that). I have been to burlesque, strip clubs and male reviews. Whats wrong with appreciating a sexy form ?
