Well it accentuates our features and we want to appeal.I once used to just wear a little eyeshadow and mascara...then for some reason I had my makeup done a work this was a few years ago and a colleague commented on how lovely I looked.........that made me think and from then on in I put my face on every day.Recently I was with someone who seemed not too fussed and with him I rarely put makeup on...he seemed to make me feel at ease.

I'm a makeup artist, I love to be fresh faced, but also like to get dolled up too! I'm not hiding anything though.. You sound rather aggressive and grumpy and judgemental in your statement .. That's waaaay uglier than anything you'd want to cover up with makeup. When I do makeup on cancer patients, there's a 'look good, feel good' campaign.. Ok from your picture you seem very toned and musclebound....do you go to the gym a fair abd enjoy looking after yourself or are you so vain your persoective of attractiveness lies wholly within your body image? I like makeup and truth be told I do feel that I look prettier when made up. A good mousturiser overlain with a great mineral powder also helps to even out my skin tone as I have suffered quite alot of sun damage over the years from having that all over tan when I was in my late teens early 20's. my eyes are certainly nice with some eyeshadow, liner and mascara. OP isit vanity to want to look good and feel good or just natural pride in our appearance and on occasions such as a date or function maximising our assets? Ok ok if the ladies of which you are generalising about are applying it with a trowel then there may be an issue but, heads up babe; this could also be because those beautiful girls have come across boys who make them feel like they aren't pretty. I do dresss to impress for a man I'm into; but if he's truly into me then it's not going to matter how I look, if I arrive in my lil Miss Naughty flannel pj's, house dress or jeans without makeup or done up to the hilt he'll still enjoy me or moreso that I feel comfortable enough around him to just be "me". I have had a few meet n greets where I've arrived hair unbrushed, no makeup, in high viz and steelcaps and guess what? It hasn't been a deal breaker!! Your assumption that most of us "need it look half decent" speaks more about your poor opinion of ladies who care about thier appearance and grooming and your own self-indulgent and overly inflated ego. Methinks yku are making up for a personal feeling of inadequacy (you are aware that pumping too much iron and using steroids reduces brain capacity and penis size hey?).

There's make-up and then there's make-up.Some women are naturally pretty and don't need make up.Other women need to enhance their looks, cover up scares, zits, and to make them feel pretty and feminine.Some women can walk out the door without it on and others well put on heaps of spac-filler.Some women look like complete clowns and look like they are about to head off to the circus!There is nothing wrong with women wearing make-up as long as it is applied appropriately.A women feels confidant when she looks her best and if that means wearing make-up, well she can!It's just like when gym junky men go to the gym to make their bodies look fit/fab when really you's just need a pin to pop ya, cause they look like they are full of air with a large body and small pin head, it's not that appealing or attractive when it's over done.Get my drift...FOXYLOL I find "NUDE" is the best.

Without makeup on I've always worked around makeup and because of my work have never had to pay for it. I also have a Lot of freckles.... Yeah I know freckles are cute...... On 10 year olds!!! I just feel more confident and comfortable with a touch of makeup on. Then you get the guys that think if you don't put on makeup you haven't bothered to make an effort !! NUDE is definitely best. Its nice that a women goes to the trouble to make herself look her best .For her as much as you. Confidence is always the key ingredient on a first meet.As long as its not the scatter gun approach where her face has more bright colour than a baboons arse.Less is more in my opinion.

At least op doesn't need to worry about his letterbox being worn out by all those Christmas cards anymore... 😄 Probably the less I say about that post and his implied views on women the better, but as for the question of makeup... My preference (for anyone who is interested 😛) is minimal makeup... I like earthy girls, little or none. I see more beauty in a bit of lippy... Maybe a hint of blush and eyeliner for special occasions 👍 I've seen beautiful women multi task with a spot of lippy doubling as the blush 😘 I remember being educated by two beauty's on their "dragon reconstruction program" with the elaborate scaffolding and special renders that needed to be systematically hand troweled in order to create an image that wouldn't break mirrors... It was a ripping yarn... Both very natural types... In the end we've got to like ourselves, be it an hour in front of the mirror or a minute... Hp xo 💌 Because less is more...

Was one of those women who had a quitky natural beauty smashed through the roof with a beautiful heart, soul and personality.... We'd be getting ready to go out dancing and I'd be there foofing my hair and trowelling on my liquid makeup (all this nice stuff didn't exist back then, and pretty o es for your necklace were hotly sought after but Freya I know of a berry bush that'll rock your clay mask foundation with a pretty hue!!! think Clan of the Cave Orgasm ;-)) but I digress..... She never needed to bother with makeup, her freckles were fabulous JayJay (just sayin' yours are too beautiful) and she was just better without makeup!! I remember the only night she did try to wear some she DID look like a comical street walking clown, she said "fucking makeup hates me!! Aaaarrrrggh" and we laughed while she washed her face clean, put on a lipgloss and headed out. She was just naturally pretty, not in the stunning to look at variety; just ...... naturally fresh faced and gorgeous. I told her often how beautiful she was and I can still see her pretty face in her daughter..... some beauty is just "faceless" and requires no artifice to enhance it. (Sigh) OP you need to review tkur take on these things FFS you're 50yo old. Show some maturity. WILLLUV2PART not as eloquent but fucking "spot on"!!!! Keep up the "beautiful" work..... Yes you are right. But in everyone's defense the OP could have been less tactless. I might also add OP that marketing, glosdy magazines and people's perceptions about what is beautiful are greatly influenced by the media and other people's prescribed views on what is and isn't acceptable. I'm a 5'5" cuddly size 14-16 and 82kg but I rely on my height making me a perfect 10, how you or anyone else finds me is entirely at thier own discretion. Peacekeeping Indy

I have days where I wear makeup & days wear I don't!!! Don't particularly like working out with makeup on as it slides off my face. Don't really care who sees me without it!!! I do however, have to have my eyelashes done!!! So I do!!! I like the way they make me feel and the way my eyes look - and the fact that I don't have to wear mascara. I'm 51 and I'm allowed to indulge myself and if it's eyelash extensions or makeup then I'll do it!!! I do not think he was throwing insults, he just wrote it wrong.I wear make up because I am older and like to hide my flaws. Nothing sexy to me about a blotched red face, so I do it to make myself feel better.I do not wear it every day, but when I go out my husband says, gosh you scrub up well.some of us do not need it, some do and some over do the make up and I think thats what you meant.I like to make up my face to highlight my features. Its my personal choice but I know some guys that prefer a woman make up free. In the end its up to her what to do.

Not one to be afraid in public without make up, especially when i am closer to nature , since i like spending time in the water obviously i wont be goin around with make up , but when i am out Bar hopping-clubbing sure i like to look glamorous but having said that still i wont be looking like a Clown , i am aware of them ladies with tons of make up and guys will be saying, why ?!...so i am carefull with it , i am kinda less is more but what i am wearing is Glam ! and i like it ike that.

As a glamour portrait photographer, I love hair and make-up and giving everyday women the best experience and turn them into supermodels. Very few men would be into having a makeover session, but women love being pampered :)Doing your hair and makeup is a personal thing and is all about presenting your very best, it shouldn't be necessary but if a girl feels insecure about a certain thing and she wants to wear a little makeup, it should certainly be her own choice. I know some men would love to take these decisions on board and make it their business, but really leave some things out of your territory :)

Up on the Gold Coast... she was a lovely, intelligent and friendly... also very very good looking.Strangely she would never let her her boyfriend see her without makeup... she'd get up before him and apply makeup before he woke and always stay up till he went to sleep.The only thing I could think of was she was too insecure... which was strange given she knew just how pretty she was and used it to good effect on the guys.Personally I like makeup on a woman just as much as I like a woman who is self assured enough to go without.I also appreciate the efforts and pains she must go to in getting it right (having applied it to my ex for many years it is a skill that can be a bitch to learn).

Well all males n females alike have a routine we do that shows a degree of self pride in our own being or belong... It makes now difference if a lady wears make up or a skimpy dress what does matter is the fact she is showing self pride in her appearance and I guess anyone that doesn't appreciate her efforts is eaith blind or so far up himself he would be known as the fool with only a little tool!
