Identification

January 31 2011

We were at a party on saturday night where we had an imense amount of fun, but a discussion was had between a few of us who attend Grays lane regularly. We also go to the lake to refresh after the beach or relax when the wind is too much for the beach. Lts face it, knowing who is or does and who doesn't on the beach is at times a bit of a lottery. We wondered, apart from those couples we know, is there a good system of symbols we could put on our little beach kit to identify us as swingers, to separate the regular nudists and give other couples or singles the confidence to approach us.

like the hobo signs system. "doctor here will treat for free" "kind lady here, tell pitiful story" "talk religion, get free bed" etc :D

I have heard that Flamingos are a sign and also having rocks under your letter box. Other than the obvious impracticality of carrying a Flamingo and a rock encapsulated letter box to the beach, I think i will have a silhouette of a Flamingo sewn on to the beach umbrella. So for those at Grays lane - there is a start. Now to differentiate between straight/bi/curious/experimental. damn it people, just come and say hi and ask.

I have heard the chameleon is a sign. Trouble with a badge or anything, those not in the lifestyle will eventually cotton on and then your secret is out. Mrs will be getting an ankle bracelet tomorow quick smart but what about us guys?

yes i think if either one or both from the couple wear a coloured bracelet, this could mean they are in the "lifestyle". But obviously you still need to confirm with them. As far as Greys Lane goes, how about when you enter from the car park, head to the right side and wear your bracelets...just a thought.

Chameleons. We did post the web address of a place where the chameleon jewelry can be purchased in the previous post. The link was edited out of the previous post which is fair enough of RHP i guess. If you want the link contact us directly. Not affiliated with the website in anyway, just have bought from them in the past

We won swingers Bingo 3-4 yrs ago with a organised group of 30-40 swinging couples. Part of the prize was tee shirts with the groups name on it. ".............. swingers" We have never worn those tee shirts. Dont like the idea of wearing any type of label that identifies you as a swinger in any public area. Have you considered the safety issues?

We also find it difficult to know the difference. We have discussed a flag/ribbon system attached to your umbrella:-yellow for curious, steady on.red for watch but dont touch.green for open to suggestions.rainbow for anything goes.black for, not today thanks, im reading the last chapter of this book.Cheap and effective and you could run a discreet weekend ribbon stall at the beach entrance.lol

Seems odd that it might be unsafe to wear a chameleon badge or similar. I doubt that enough of the rest of the population know or care. I seriously doubt that many people (especially men) take any notice of what jewelry people are wearing, unless they are sizing them up to steal it. Only those who are into the lifestyle would make a point of looking for it. We think some kind of badge, pendant or bracelet is a great idea as long as the design it shows, is basically the same. It just needs to lead to an innocent conversation to compare yours with theirs and you'll soon figure out if you're all on the same wavelength.C&S
