removed, or the entire thread? AND, how long ago did you post it?Sometimes, the Moderators do not even allow a post to go up.That is, you post, and it appears to go up, but, if you go back the next day or two, it is not there. To "Sort-of" answer your Question though;RHP Moderate the Forums, for obvious reasons - we would create havoc without them.As you have observed, even with them, some of us tend to be a little liberal in our opinions of others. As far as reporting abusive or obnoxious behaviour and/or comments, just look at the top line of each individual post. There is like a menu up there, and the first option is "Report Abuse" - click that and follow the prompts. RHP Moderators will then message you a "Action Report" Number thing, an will probably contact you IF they see the need.. All good?

Negative commentary and responses are quite subjective.... Care to share examples of direct quotes to give calibration of such ?? But to answer your question, the forums have moderators whom work for RHP. Everyone’s posts apart from those with pre-approval status are subject to scrutiny by those moderators before the general public see the comments....so if there’s anything that they deem to be not in alignment with their criteria, it can trashed prior to it being available....I’ve had many go burned up before anyone see it....but I don’t get my nose out of joint about it... Which is why it always never ceases to amuse me when people claim that there are those who post with impunity....

Thanks for the info guys. Answering some questions, it was only posted a day or so ago so may not have even gone up. I was a bit surprised as my post was about a negative experience I had of contact made outside the site and I feel should have been a good read for people to learn and take care about. I didn’t receive any warning that my post contained anything inappropriate so just perplexed not miffed. I need not give examples of nasty posts though as I’m sure anyone can easily find those themselves.

I've been puzzled sometimes too. Now and then I'll post something cheeky, a play on words or simply point out something I find funny without malice. I can only guess that the moderator hasn't understood my joke.

Sometimes....posts just go missing.... Other times the mods based upon their experience of similar posts won’t allow them not because they break rules per se, but because they know it MIGHT incite a vigorous discussion.... And it’s because said vigorous discussions that have occurred in the past that they choose not to allow it in the future... And said vigorous discussions may not have been the result of genuine negativity, but a perception based upon a snowflake’s response to merely a differing viewpoint.....which is why I think it’s most important to clarify and attach examples of negative postings.... Recently it was alleged that an op was berated because 3 differently worded postings that reiterated about having healthy expectations was confused with negative comments....

See right down the bottom of this page, a little green icon box, a lady with blonde hair (wearing glasses), that says "customer support", click on that. A new page will open. To the left is sub headings, click on the "Help and support", click on "community and forums" topic, then click on "My Forum post or thread has disappeared. Why?". Your answer will be there! 👍 *Best you follow the above steps and find it yourself rather than me posting the answer here. It is the only way to learn about this site and features. Ms Foxy

I’m unsure as to why you’d think the mods are any more together than anyone else on this site, in my experience they are not. They are human, humans can be petty & weird & hard to understand so mostly I just don’t try, chances are if you ask and the reason is petty they’ll just make up some lie to cover for it anyway, it’s human nature. I’m not saying that’s the case here, simply that you should never expect anything more from mods, admins & the like, at the end of the day they’re just people on a website like you and me and there’s going to be times when their actions cause people to ask “wtf?”. Also we’re dealing with technology so there’s always the chance that your internet coverage dropped out or some other technological hiccup occurred. You could go crazy trying to figure it out but personally I wouldn’t bother, it’s not worth the time or energy.

we too have had many posts either not posted or moderated, in one case it was posted but so moderated it made no sense, this is why nadi has withdrawn from posting in recent years. have certainly encountered examples where mods have misinterpreted meanings. i think also you must keep in mind rhp exists to make money for the owners not especially for us so many choices to censor are likely to be commercially motivated. listen to Phoenix's advice, is the best way forward. especially liked this line btw "but a perception based upon a snowflake’s response to merely a differing viewpoint"

Haha thanks Ms Foxy, that’s a nice detailed instruction manual but I fear since I am always on here on my phone that little lady is never revealing herself! Maybe the mobile features aren’t as clear but that’s ok! I also love the “snowflake” response and the rest of the responses show some interesting insights, thank you all! I was mostly surprised at this particular post not making the grade as it contained some safety information, my guess too is that maybe a safety warning might not fit in with driving commercial profits.

Winter is coming... I am a proud snowflake. Because I will always speak-up and speak-out against belligerent, captious people. I am allowed to be offended by what offends me. Why should I sit down and be quiet when I have something to say? If I don't like what you say or how you say it, and I speak out, I am a snowflake? If I don't agree with your views or your ideas, and I say something, I am a snowflake? I call you a gaslighter - an ego-centred, narcissistic, bully. Many snowflakes equal a powerful storm.

Snowflakes can't take the heat is, I think, the idea. But the forum is supposed to be a big party (a fun one haha), and flaming is discouraged by the site. So you know, I guess if you can't take having your opinions rejected, that makes you a bit of a snowflake too. But you seem to have the gist of the place and how the app works differently from the desktop version OP, so I'm sure you'll be right. Impressive stuff considering I'm still getting my head around all the differences and I like to think I'm pretty cluey. Peachy

Yes, I agree. You are right about seeing derogatory comments. When you have been around for a long time (as some of us here have been. I'm talking 5+ yrs or more), you will soon learn that there is all personality types who post and those who have the same behavour pattern. Yes, there are recent derogatory comments (as stated and examples above) showing underlinging disrespectful attitues. That is why the moderators do have guidelunes, rules so to speak. As stated here. https://redhotpie.com.au/Adult-Forums/Forum-Help-Stay-On-Topic.aspx And yes, they (moderators) do keep an eye on active posts (24hrs) and so do people who read the forums but do not post. Therefore anyone from this site, can report posts. Ms Foxy

Never ask why ? just have your say and move right along . You cant control which mod may be on duty and who for all we know might of had a blue at home before getting to work ? If youre deemed inappropriate even though you think your right ? Theres nothing you say or do thats going to change it.. As much as we feel unfairly judged , the fact is it still remains thier bat and ball we we're playing with.

@ Mojo : Out of bitter, harsh, and volatile environments the snowflake forms. Each snowflake unique, translucent and gentle. Many combined, a formidable force. @ Peach: Having an idea/opinion/question rejected, debated or analysed is one thing. For the most part, those that post to a forum are readying themselves for the vigorous reply that might ensue. It's the derision, insolence and taunting, that does occur, that some people appear genuinely shocked and unhappy about. Then when they put together a rebuttal the denigration starts (snowflake, sook, etc.) and it turns to mush. @Oz: Some snowflakes collide and infuriate each other, others collide and make the most of the connection. This snowflake is always ready to go full matron, when required (the notes are still being written). My devilish side loves a good laugh and you certainly provide that. I think I fight harder on Ms. Foxy's post though? What do you reckon? @Annie: I recommended a female contact the police, on a forum topic this week (you commented too), the whole topic has been removed. I hope she will be okay?

2 things :-) Did you know Witchy Poo in HR Puff n Stuff was a man acting as a woman? The other thing is that most of my school and welfare records are in the name my foster-parents chose to call me while I was in their care and it has caused no end of trouble and pain for most of my life. It's hilariously ironic that I was asked to prove my identity (for the wrong name) when I applied for Redress in WA... Because they mixed my name up as has happened so often over the years. And to top it off, I received my thank you note from the Royal Commission in the wrong name as well. So, it's important to me and your response will be a reflection of your respect for what I have explained. Peachy

It's about identity. When I'm out, I appreciate friends and new people calling me Deb and not any of it's variations though people often insist on lengthening it to Debbie. Most of us are pretty good at working all that out. The topics do not get listed within profile streams until they reach a full 2 pages. After that, many non regulars have a quick look and if it interests them, comment. And it's not just about killing spare time. Many regulars have met each other at meet and greets around the country simply by interacting with each other within the forums. It has built many solid friendships. It is an established community within the community that anyone can become a part of. Sweet cornFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sweet corn SpeciesZea mays convar. saccharata var. rugosaOriginUnited States Loose kernels of sweet cornSweet corn (Zea mays convar. saccharata var. rugosa;[1] also called sweetcorn, sugar corn and pole corn) is a cereal with a high sugar content. Sweet corn is the result of a naturally occurring recessive mutation in the genes which control conversion of sugar to starch inside the endosperm of the corn kernel. Unlike field corn varieties, which are harvested when the kernels are dry and mature (dent stage), sweet corn is picked when immature (milk stage) and prepared and eaten as a vegetable, rather than a grain. Since the process of maturation involves converting sugar to starch, sweet corn stores poorly and must be eaten fresh, canned, or frozen, before the kernels become tough and starchy.
-

Corn seed is actually a vegetable, a grain, and a fruit. Corn seed is a vegetable because it is harvested for eating. (Usually sweet corn when grain is harvested at the milk stage.) Corn seed is a grain because it is a dry seed of a grass species. (Usually field corn when harvested after the grain is relatively dry.) Corn seed is a fruit because that is the botanical definition. More details follow. Corn (Zea mays) is sometimes called a vegetable grain. Corn is a monocotyledon with only one seed leaf like grasses. The easily identified "grains" (or cereal plants/grasses) such as wheat, oats, and barley are also monocots. A grain is defined as the harvested dry seeds or fruit of a cereal grass, or the term can refer to the cereal grasses collectively. Field corn that is harvested when the seeds are dry would thus be considered a grain. Sweet corn when harvested before maturity is usually considered a vegetable. It is grown to be eaten fresh as a tender vegetable rather than as a dried grain suitable for grinding into flour or meal. A vegetable is defined as a plant cultivated for an edible part or parts such as roots, stems, leaves, flowers, or seeds/fruit. If you want to be very precise, all cereal grains could be called vegetables, but by convention we separate the cereal grains from the rest of the "vegetables" such as peas, lettuce, potatoes, cabbage, etc. Either way, your earlier post is relegated to blah blah

I'll take back my, corn is not a veg and support my point that it is a carbohydrate, thank you Google. Is corn a simple carbohydrate?Complex carbohydrates, which include whole fresh fruits, beans, bread, rice, and vegetables, like potatoes and corn, are diluted, making them bulkier. ... If you want to read ,pre about how humans have integrated complex carbohydrates into their diets and in the process influenced the evolution of wild grains, click here.

I tried flattened pretzels samples the other day... O. M. G. The texture, the salted was my fav flavour. Have to say icing sugar goes well with corn instead of salt for those who care to try it... lots of it. Make sure it's fresh or it will taste yucky. I was going to say, not icing mixture because the sugar is mixed with corn flour, but hey on reflection, it might work.

I just thought the idea that it is a carbohydrate is fascinating and I only learned that this year. I tend to steer clear of popcorn because it can make me feel ill along with a few other things that I can eat in balance. Funnily enough, I don't have a problem with refined sugar. But either way, I was recommending icing sugar with popcorn To Others because it tastes yummy, though I think I have eaten it only once in the last decade? Mmmm, did you know it was the steam building up inside a dried kernel that causes it to pop. It's still an amazing world. Peachy

Are you sure OP that you were reported or did RHP reject your posts? You can see them when you post but that doesn't mean they have passed moderation. There are a few ways to check...1) Sign out and check from there.2) Put yourself on your favourite list and then your moderated posts will show up on your home stream. 3) Use the advanced forum search to check your posts.
