Editing Forum Posts

March 11 2020

Am I correct in assuming that one is unable to Edit or Delete one,s own Posts? If I'm mistaken, can someone explain how?

Nope you’re not mistaken.... Editing and deleting I’m not a fan of.....it allows too much manipulation and would give rise to gaslighting more so than now... But sometimes I wish I could proof read better... lol Mr Dragon

A post the other day about breast implants had a spelling error that was later corrected. Don't know how to do it though.

I posted a topic this week which was going well until a few took exception to the words craving cock . .? This' l understood and felt l could have used a better choice of words. But there it was in all its glory and to my knowledge l could not change or delete. In this circumstance ' it would of been nice if l had that option..

It would be nice if people could stick to the topic and start one of their own if they want to go off-topic about wording that doesn't suit them. Nothing wrong with craving cock. 😇😈 Why should we have to reword ourselves because of other people's issues? They have the option to put themselves in the firing line by starting their own topic. But we get too many too scared to start topics because of pedanticity. And so the cycle goes. It's a pity guidelines for the forum really don't mean much when people go off on a tangent about rubbish that has nothing to do with the topic. 🍑

There is no way we can change what we've written ourselves. A bit of a shame for typos and auto-correct when the topic becomes too much about that but RHP have said many times, they will never change that and I'm all good with that, lol. Gaslighting, yep I'm always impressed with what people make out of my approach as opposed to the ability to stick to the topic instead of making shit personal. 13 years of being told off in the forum and arguing that their dislike of my approach isn't relevant and I've had enough of being gaslighted when all I really want to do is debate the topic at hand. Peachy, I was glad to see the Breast topic tidied up in general and to see it get right back on track. PS: if you wanna check your post for spelling and grammar, before you click send, there are apps out there for that.

Thanks for the support. When i posted the topic ' l was basically describing a conversation i had with a group of women the previous week. Two of those women admitted to looking forward to getting out to get some weekly and so that's what i posted.... Actually it was one of the other women who said they craved cock and that stuck..

We should have the right to Edit or even Delete our own posts if we are not comfortable with what has been written, and we should be able to delete our own Topics as well. Every other forum that i am a member of allows this, except Topic deletion, which can be done simply by contacting support or one of the moderators. I am not that good at expressing what i really want to say, and sometimes i have posted something in here that after reading it a few times, just didn't cut it, and wished i could go back and edit the post. RedHotPie uses a very unusual forum software unlike all the others out there, and it seems to be very old and antiquated, but that is just my opinion, i would love to see it change over to a much more modern and traditional style of forum, again just my own personal opinion. Also, when i post a reply, sometimes i am asked to add a Subject and/or a Tag line before the reply will be sent, sometimes not, which to me is a bit stupid, the Subject line i can accept if need be, but the Tag line should be turfed. Others will disagree, and most of those people will most likely be the long standing members of this forum who have been here so long that they would se no point in changing things from the antiquated way things are right now. Heck, is there any chance i will be banned for these comments ?

i could have added the following comments to my previous post and not have to post a new one There also seems to be a number of long term members parading in this forum who seem to think that they are on a completely different level to most of the other members, and i notice many of these long term members seem to think that what they say goes, and often speak to others in a rude or derogatory manner, as in speaking down to, and being very harsh and judgemental, when sometimes they should take a step back and respond in a much nicer tone and understand that there are new members here who may feel intimidated by some of these old members, and feel they may not be able to say something because they feel they will be flamed by these members in one way or another. It has happened to me on more than one occasion i can tell you (points back at my comments about Editing or Deleting our own posts or comments) Sadly this is a trait that often exists in almost every other forum that i have been a member of as well, not just in here.

The only thing I really want to address in your post/s is that I feel like you have the wrong end of the stick about how most regular forum members feel about editing though. Welcome. Peachy

You should have a 15 minute window for mistakes, feux pas and regrets, after that bad luck own your shit. If people can go back and change what they said the result would be chaos.

Quoting 'usebi' You should have a 15 minute window for mistakes, feux pas and regrets, after that bad luck own your shit. If people can go back and change what they said the result would be chaos. 15 minutes is better than nothing, every other forum i am a member of is either time limited, usually within 12 to 24 hours, or unlimited, then again those are not Adult related or Sex forums, and as i previously mentioned, this Forum is like no other forum that i have seen before, it seems to be a very old system compared to most of the others out there, and takes a bit of getting used to.

Yes we should be able to edit or delete our posts. Companies shouldn't be allowed to retain information about us ans what we created, our profile, our pics or our posts. Im not clear about what's the law in Australia but it's like that in EU. Regarding how craving is dragged here and there, let's not be ridiculous. Different pov were expressed in the topic on question and people disagreed. That should be it or... Perhaps you can create a new topic to discuss about tone and choice of words and how it conveys or not information and perpetuate or not stigma rather than drifting about it? Other than that and we could have the impression that it hit your nerves. And I remember someone saying that it's weak (not that I agree at all but you know, we have to respect that as well I guess).
