I find confidence very sexy, in a man or a woman. It's also reassuring. Cockiness is confidence gone over board I guess. There's definitely a difference. - Posted from rhpmobile

I like my men confident in life and sexually, having them control me sexually, physically and the mind too, most powerful part, turns me on big time. I like guys to verbally validate me, I need that and I like delivering that validation to them as well, but particularly before, during and after sex. Silences have their place, but nothing worse for me than when they don't communicate how they feel. That will be the biggest 'tick' I'll need with my number 1, my alpha male, when I find him 😘

Subjective, but here's an example that highlights the difference to me. Referring to guys because they are my complete focus lol but the cocky guy will be the one hanging out the window screaming out "Hey Baby" 😂😂 wheras the confident guy will go about his business, naturally getting attention because people are drawn to him, this being exactly how my last love interest was, confident, kind, sexy as hell, people drawn to him, including me, flirting was easy lol The other guy hanging out the window, also like that kind of enthusiastic cheeky stuff but it seems more cocky I suppose, still not a turn off for me. They need to be pretty confident to take me on 😉

Confidence is humbly knowing your value and walking proudly in the world, cockiness is thinking you're well above your value in a somewhat rude and delusional way that usually acts as a repellant. I like confidence, as it's more attractive than someone who doesn't know their value aka great traits. Cockiness to me is the latter trying to fake it, who lacks the humility to see the good in themselves and others aka shallow as a wading pool! Example; the confident person will read you well and counter with fabulous suggestions. The cocky person can't see beyond themselves and will make random demands. It's definitely NOT the same thing... but I guess it takes self awareness and practice to realise the difference? - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'vegas' Confidence is knowing how good you are and showing it Arrogance (cockiness) is claiming you are better than you are Im going to disagree with that.... assuming you didn't quite state it as you meant it. A confident person does not feel compelled to show anything, or do anything, because they inherently know their abilities without having to prove it to themselves or anyone else. Miss Inspirit summed up cockiness quire well. But a little cockiness interspersed with humour helps to lighten the potential for arrogance. DG

Great responses. This subject has taken off . It must be something of an everyday thing.

Confidence can be perceived differently by each of us, as can cockiness. For some, they may be confident in some aspects of themselves and not others. For me, confidence is about knowing your self worth and not accepting anything less than you deserve or not allowing yourself to be treated in such a way as you don't deserve to be treated. For example, allowing yourself to be treated like an option instead of a priority. As for "cockiness", it's like a show pony compared to a work horse. You know the kind of guy, or girl that thinks their gods gift to the world! lol Personally I can't stand cocky or arrogant people. Confidence in ones self is very sexy though.

Quoting 'Mischeviouslad' A confident person does not feel compelled to show anything, or do anything, because they inherently know their abilities without having to prove it to themselves or anyone else. But a little cockiness interspersed with humour helps to lighten the potential for arrogance. ...agree with you more and find confidence a person, male or female, very refreshing. That said, there is nothing at all wrong with a bit of cockiness now and then either and if you don't believe me the first time, I'm happy to tell you and tell you...and tell you again! CM...who just ducked out the back with his bag of popcorn!

A confident person doesn't say anything they just are. It shows its own proof. There's no need to speak. A cocky person is all talk and rarely lives up to himself You're right confidence with humility and cockiness with humour can be quite enjoyable people to hang around with - Posted from rhpmobile

Confidence comes from within when you're comfortable in yourself and your surroundings. Cockiness is purely superficial behaviour which comes from an inaccurate view of yourself and your ability to please others. - Posted from rhpmobile

This cockiness some of you speak of can be ok in 'context'.Would that not be classed as 'cheekiness'. Personally, I do not like cocky people in any form. They are usually arrogent and have narcisstic personality traits. Or is that, they could be called a smiley cock head..... 😛 - Posted from rhpmobile

Confidence is a subtle way of getting things done and getting on with it without having to say much.. ? Cockiness is reminding those who you are the first time you told them...?

Cockiness is arrogance and I do not like arrogance in a man or a woman. Confidence on the other hand is sexy and powerful 🤙🏼💜 - Posted from rhpmobile

Being cocky is not being confident and visa versa. Confidence is calm and strong while cockiness suggests a momentary thing to me? Funny to think considering the lifespan of cockies I suppose. But yeah, I could describe as brave vs bravado? Gotta love, "the real thing'. Peachy

some bitterness. Why come back and whine, albeit disguised in colorful print, passive aggressive cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels. On topic, I'm both confident and cocky, tis what it is, try to tip the balance in favour of confident, but cocky always lurks lol dammit 😊

I have no idea what you are going on about. Though obviously it's about me. I have no idea what you have read into my post on this page but it is simply an answer to the OP from my POV with, I hoped, a touch of humour. Looking back over the thread, my opinion seems to roughly agree with the general opinion. Do me a favour, and stop thinking you know what people are thinking and get on with your own thing. Thanks, Peachy, who admires confidence as a strong, calm beautiful thing.
