VERY Written words go straight to the creative centres of the brain to invoke imagery and also emotion. Words paint pictures, forge opinions, inform and educate. So I do find topics discussing emails people receive, peoples profiles, and the importance of grammar and so called eliquent writing quite interesting. DG

Great topic The written word is so important to me. I tend to visualize and create an impression of someone by what they have written. RHP profiles are so varied. So many males can't be bothered to make and effort. In those cases, I can't be bothered to meet them either. Gives me a sense that they are lazy so probably lazy lovers too. On the other hand, a well written profile with some humour or witiness is exciting and I would be more inclined to meet that person. Having a mental connection is the first step to possibly more. I recognised her voice, she was standing at the hotel counter ,her back to me.We had come to meet in a city foreign to both of us,two not quite strangers, women whose lives had connected a continent away from each other,a shared funny bone she says, and a passion for creativity and just being. We talked all night, unwrapping for each other like small presents, the stories of our lives, similar yet different. The next morning we sat in Hyde Park, the white noise of the city juxtaposing with the giggling mutterings, of the Sadhu sitting on the grass. We walked and talked all day and in the evening we met another nine forum posters in our hotel bar. Such an interesting lot.Jensman and the lovely Jennylee,Neptune,MsD,meeka,Lost focus,Yank_my_chain,Jsk and the enigmatic Boots...an extraordinary night. We went to galleries ,sat in the Bambini Trust Bar and Restaurant, she drawing on the tablecloth snapshots of our fellow diners,me scribbling doggerely beside them, and both of us flirting outrageously with Fabio the waiter. And now we are planning our next adventure, heading to Tasmania to experience the amazing MONA,I can't wait.

I deliberately don't ask for their pics until I we have chatted for a while. I like to try and get a vibe from the way they write and express themselves with out being influenced by their looks . It works Met some great people - Posted from rhpmobile

more like picking up on a repetitive theme throughout the consecutive posts being made by people. Sure.I find it becomes apparent after a while which archetypes are doing all the talking for a person, which ones are out front, the parts of self that are most obvious, but that isn't the be all and end all of the whole person. There is always an underbelly we don't see, whether light or dark, just as there is always a 'blind spot' that we can't easily see about ourselves. Our persona may have a dominant role or a few, the benevolent King, proud Queen, privileged Prince, entitled Princess, brave Hero, outlaw Pirate, chivalrous Knight, smooth Cowboy, Rescuer, Victim, Mother, Child, Sage, Villain, Femme Fatale or Don Juan, Detective, Hermit, Martyr, Fairy Godmother, the Scrooge, Trickster, Maiden, Prostitute....there are hundreds more and each one has a light and a dark aspect. There is no right or wrong as people are never static or two dimensional cut-outs. These are the basis of characters in every nursery rhyme, story book, every movie and every novel ever read. There are some really great published books on the subject by a WA born lady. She really brings the archetypes to life, helping people identify and understand their own and those of their family and friends, work colleagues etc. As well as being an invaluable tool for those getting into their writing. Anyone who wants the authors name is welcome to inbox me.Back to the question I usually find my impressions are pretty accurate but there is always more to know about someone so they are not set in stone. I try to stay open about it.

I knew she was called nic. I'd been allowed see her gallery on rhp and she was the second most beautiful girl in the world.I was drinking my third double grey goose martini straight up, twist in a bar in enmore road. which is near the serpentine galleries where the most beautiful girl in the world likes to hang. She was wearing the most extraordinary dress, diaphanous yet concealing, made of hundreds of small - were they leaves? tassels?. In the dim bar lights and the Grey Goose goggles it seemed to shimmer when she walked. She strode up next to me and leaned back, her perfect buttocks on my crotch. I got hard. She reached behind herself, touched me, and turned, her face a mask of fury."You little shit! I'm on RHP and all the men have at least 9 inches! I know cos they say so!"She stormed out the door, leaving me shrinking in the aircon. A single feather detached from her dress, caught a convection current, and did a slow circling dance for the death of my passion. I said to her disappearing back 'short and sweet, honey'

Impressions about many people from reading the Forums, but haven't had a chance to meet any of them in real life, so I won't know yet if my impressions would change until that day comes :-) However, I did form a friendship with a lovely lady from the Forums and we've been chatting outside RHP :-) Sorry Lady_Tuscan, my head and brain are still thick as glue from this irritating seasonal flu virus, I can't think nor can I write a short story in current condition :(- Posted from rhpmobile

Reading the forums here in rhp, is a new kind of enjoyment, typing a challenge and posting thoughts to be taken for lifting spirits a learning curve, but for a feather in me cap, I and Tara will be honest especially to the short and sweet posters, and that is a thing. My nic is for Tara and her strict rules for all bars held and no holes bared, pure admiration and absolute support for her cheerful ability to be on top and in control with the matter, I* guess it could be seen as she keeps a good hand on the pulse with a passion. However for the forums, I often imagine some of the characters that post in here , all sitting together at a table half pissed and warming for a toss of tales, wisdom and wit. Miss Freya has painted a fine picture for her short story, like that famous painting of the movie stars all sitting at the bar. Is there really a snapshot Mrs Freya? An artists impression would make a fine cover page for the story, or who is hot section in RHP hehe.Just a comment, have not the courage to write a short story. Have a feeling there is some fun stuff being prepared to be read for the challenge raised.Mado* cruising along attentively like an excited kid most of the time, cheeky and teasing Tara to come play with me, even with rules.

Drifts down the gutter. A country girl in Enmore appreciates the rain far more than the harried faces of passers by. She decided not to meet him in a bar. The coffee smells to good and I love to watch the rain and the traffic. Foreign concepts her her.- Posted from rhpmobile

O' wingman darling, don't play too hard to get. It's cold and lonely up here and I could use a man with your attributes, your wit, charm, grace and innate sensitivity. Our exchanges have shown in you an intelligent warmth, a soul and body worth exploring and a passion only heretofore hinted at. Now..... show me ya bits!!! Lol Quoting Mado "However for the forums, I often imagine some of the characters that post in here , all sitting together at a table half pissed and warming for a toss of tales, wisdom and wit." Definately an EVENT worth attending. Maybe we should arrange said mass meet in Sydney, given 6mths those of us who have to travel could save for the weekend and organise leave from work. Sweetgem you're an event planning guru, find us a smashing venue!! Lol anyone want to billet me for the weekend just send a message if you're interested. What about it peeps?

There in my dream of dreams was this beautiful example of a male. My mind was occupied by his handsomeness and my body in confusion. What is it about this male which makes me think of touching him but only lightly so he doesn’t know? What is it what makes me frightened to go there and speak, my dreams are wonderful, colorful and sensual, still this fear I carry is present. How can someone like me dare to touch? Then one day as I was sitting alone at the beach watching the sunset and contemplating live, there he was. Silently, looking at me, smiling at me, and I to shy to say hi. He bolt and comes over to sit beside me in the sand and he speaks. He speaks to me, first his words I can’t hear, and then I hear his words clear and loud. My ears are hearing what my eyes are seeing, this wonderful handsome male, beside me talking to me. And suddenly I laugh, my mind, body and soul are happy. This dream I dreamed is nothing to be frighten off. Come with me he says, we go for a drink, be brave and bolt he says don’t hide. And then out of the sky, this feather is flowing down, I pick it up and smile. This feather from the sky is telling me we are on the way to a wonderful friendship. So go my fear and leave me, I have no time for you any more. Let my being flowed in happiness and wonder. E.

We should get together and have our own regional Qld party and show them all how it's done!! Mmmm a bubble bath sounds awesome, wish we had a tub. I've nearly finished "How to be a Woman" by Caitlin Moran (fantastic book that all men and women should read), and next is "Sex at Dawn". No more reading today though, I'm off to see World War Z, first time I've been to the movies for about a year I'd say.

The first thought that popped into my head was "there once was a man from Nantucket" but the written word is a powerful thing. It endures. Think Shakespeare or Bronte, who's plays and novels are constantly recycled into movie plots to this day. Think Nietzsche or Socrates or Epicuras, who's thoughts still echo deep within many of us. Think Byron or Donne or Dickinson, whose poetry is so evocative. Music is another wonder, but the written word....inspirational speeches, terrifying speeches, the whole gamut of human experience. I am reminded of the old proverb....the pen is mightier than the sword.

It looked shrivelled and dejected, like a small acorn that had dropped off tree into the damp leaves. She had known he was meeting someone else before her, and the smell or rejection hung in the air. He looked up and saw her crossing the room. She wondered if the chicken outfit was to much, but he did say he liked feathers? Sadly she had miss calculated again on her wardrobe choice. He lurched from his seat, he knocked her flat on her back a howl of horror coming from his lips as he ran for the door. She lay there and watched a feather drift down towards her, floating softy to land on her nose. Her eyes crossed as she looked at the bright pink feather. She knew then the other woman had just left, as this feather was not the fluoro yellow of her own costume. She got up, looked at her watch and headed back to pick up the boards to hang over her shoulders and stood on the street verge she hoped it would get people into the store, chicken drum sticks were on special today

I often think of the forum posters as characters in a book.....some quietly reserved, others outspoken. It's an amazing read...a million short stories with varying opinions, points of view and mostly always passionately portrayed. I guess I have formed images of how I would assume some of the chararcters (forum posters) act/speak etc. Having not actually met from here I have the luxury of everyone being just how I imagine them.
