Survey Says Aussies Having Less Sex During Lockdown!
Victorians have suffered the biggest decline in sexual activity since the coronavirus pandemic put the nation into lockdown.
But Australians in general have become more sexually adventurous during the period.
More couples are using sex toys, while sexting has been a prominent feature of relationships, according to a survey of more than 1200 Australians.
It found 34 per cent of Victorian respondents reported reduced sexual activities.
That’s compared to 25 per cent nationally - with couples having sex on average 2.3 times a week pre-pandemic to 1.7 times now.
South Australia recorded the smallest decline with 13 per cent, followed by NSW (15), Queensland (26) and Western Australia (30).
The decline has been attributed to the fact sexual partners who live apart see each other less due to restrictions on movement.
Sixty per cent of respondents also said stress of the period had impacted their sex life.
Almost half of respondents also reported having to have sex more quietly because of more people being in their homes.
The survey by Lovehoney, a brand of sex toys and products, also found 32 per cent of couples had increased their use of sex toys - a six per cent increase.
Almost a third had bought a sex toy during the period.
“Those couples still living together are being more sexually adventurous and many are seeing an improvement in their sex lives, even if they have to make love a little more quietly so as not to disturb housemates or family,” said Chantelle Otten, a sex therapist with Lovehoney.
All but 16 per cent of those in a relationship reported sending sex texts.

Covid has not had any impact on our sex life. How large was the alleged survey ? Or is this an advert (for sex toys) dressed up as an article ?

Hibernation for us has been business as usual . Perhaps even a slight increase due to no family / friend commitments of a weekend . So for us , we have no complaints. For the singles out there , I realise it’s been a long hard road . Stay safe everyone , the end is near .
