Adam Sandler is back at the top of his comedic game with this ridiculous tale of a secret agent just wanting to become a hair stylist.

Sandler plays a Mossad commando with superhero capabilities named Zohan who fakes his death and hot foots it to New York to realise his dream of making the world "silky smooth" by cutting and styling hair. Tie in some obvious language barriers and Sandler looking like a buffed and blow-dried Borat and it will have you chuckling into your popcorn. He lands a job at a Brooklyn salon, owned by a Palestinian babe played by Emmanuelle Chriqui (you’ll recognise her as Slone from Entourage), where his technique is less than conventional shtupping the old ladies who hair he cuts and colours.

Some of the jokes are subject to punishing repetition and the entire plot does play on nearly every stereotype of the Middle East yet there is something indisputably light-hearted about the whole “why-can’t-we-all-just-get-along” approach to solving international relations issues. Throw in some unorthodox uses for Hummus, a Hacky Sack show down and a cheeky cameo by Mariah Carey and the film is lighter than fat free ice-cream, but good for a giggle.
