Love The Beast - RHP review
It never sounded like a good idea. Our very own Hollywood A-lister, Eric Bana puts his moniker on, what at first glance, appears to be a low budget motor sport documentary. Not a career maker by any stretch; but what Love The Beast does do is prove that our Eric is one talented fella.

Iron Maiden: Flight 666 DVD review
Unlike 2004’s Some Kind of Monster which painted Metallica as a band of wussified school girls, Iron Maiden: Flight 666 goes a long way in reminding viewers why metal is worth getting passionate about. A Very British Gangster
How good does this sound?!? A good old fashioned tale of some hard bastard who most likely spends his life terrorising his surroundings and any camera crew crazy enough to get within ten feet of him, well yes, it sounds the goods but in reality, A Very British Gangster is actually a very disappointing documentary.

Control - Madman Distribution
Every now and then a film comes along that can turn perspective on its head. In this case it’s the Ian Curtis Biopic Control. Following the demon plagued frontman of the seminal UK outfit Joy Division, Control uses it’s limited means masterfully in a showing that can hit with the big boys seven days a week. The hard black and white film grade drags the entire film into a smoky depression that so beautifully reflects the main character’s own self-image and contributes to the overwhelming weight of the picture.

Skins (Series One) - Madman Distribution
Grown-ups writing about teenage dramas, it’s always a tricky one isn’t it… still, the monster UK hit series Skins has gone about as close to getting it right as anyone else in recent memory. Based on the reckless and variously entertaining exploits of a young and mobile clique, Skins spends each episode diving into an in-depth examination of a new core cast member each week, which then uncovers their motivation and the basis of their position within the larger group.
