How hots your name?
Want to add a point or two to your hotornot rating? Simple. Just change your name.
New Scientist magazine revealed “Men who's name contain a stressed ‘front vowel’ like Ben or the ‘a’ sound in Alex rated statistically more attractive than men with names with a stressed back vowel like ‘Tom’.
However the reverse is true for women.
Stressed back vowel such as ‘Holly’ were statistically more attractive than names with front vowels such a ‘Jesse.
Why this is, no one is sure. But guys looking for an edge might want to rethink the Aussie tradition of throwing an ‘o’ on the end of your name jonno, dicko, kevo If they are looking to make a good impression with the ladies.
