A couple's attempt to join the mile-high club on a domestic Jetstar flight from Brisbane has resulted in criminal charges.

A 44-year old Gold Coast man and his 39-year-old female partner were arrested upon landing at Mackay airport, in north Queensland, at about 8.30am AEST on Saturday, Brisbane Times reports.

Jetstar cabin crew said the pair was found together in the plane's toilet and the man became abusive to staff after they were discovered.

He was charged with disorderly conduct on an aircraft but his partner avoided any charges.

The man was released on bail and will face Mackay Magistrates Court on December 20.

A subsequent flight at Mackay airport was delayed by 30 minutes because of the incident.

pmsl ,,,,have done it 4 times on flights ,,,,,,,,its a bit squishy in the toilets standing doggystyle seems the easiest ,,,,,,and the arm rests in the seats are a bit of a problem ,,,,,,also need a couple of them blankets they supply ,,,,,,,,,,lol,,,,,,
