Dude, Stop Viewing My Profile. I’m Straight!

I was compelled to write this little piece given the number of reports and complaints I get from guys on RedHotPie who feared that a little bit of their masculinity died every time another guy viewed their profile. Sigh...

I’m mostly tempted to tell such guys to use a clean sleeve to dry their eyes and move on, but I realised that there are so many reasons why a male profile may get viewed by another man and it usually has little to do with one getting his rocks off over the other.

So for all the guys out there who have felt violated by supposedly being perved on by another bro, take comfort:

You’re Just A Username Sometimes

Don’t forget that unless you have an obviously manly username like IAMAMALE4SURE, your fellow RHP users are going to need to view your profile to work out if you are a guy, a couple or a girl. Once they work out that you’re a dude, it’s likely that they are not going to perve on you again (unless they need a reminder later on). If you have an ambiguous username like CuddleMeTonight you’re more than likely going to be viewed if your username comes up somewhere on RedHotPie. To avoid this happening, adopt a new, more manly username.

Your Username Is *Too* Manly...

Not trying to contradict what was said before but sometimes a guy’s overtly masculine username can work against him too (eg: MachoMan69, Fireman4You). Some straight guys also inadvertently adopt usernames that jump right off the gaydar such as Cruising4Fun and SexyBearBoi. If you have a username like that then you are going to have to cop a few dude-views until they can read your profile and work out that you’re straight. Again, try a new username?

The Dude Wants Profile Insipiration

A lot of guys ask us what they can do to improve their profiles and admittedly we often tell them to check out what other guys have written in their profiles for ideas, especially guys who seem to have made a lot of friends or have validations posted. We also recommend that guys use the invisibility cloak before seeking profile inspiration but we all know how some guys are about following suggestions. Anyway, if you find that a lot of straight guys are viewing your profile, just take it as a compliment. Clearly something about your profile is inspiring enough to view and learn from (or not...).

The Dude Wants A Spare (For Her)

This happens a lot on RHP. A dude meets a chick. The chick lets on that she’d like to try and threeway with another guy. The guy goes on the hunt for a suitable play friend to make a happy threesome happen. He’s going to have to view profiles to see who might be up for the challenge. Why can’t the girl do the searching? She probably does too but given the guy usually has the means to message someone right away, he’ll be busily seeking a stunt cock for his lady friend. Let’s hope that he views you!

The Dude Is Bored

Is there anything really wrong about a guy (straight or gay) viewing other male profiles? RedHotPie is as much a social networking site and online community as Facebook is and there’s a whole lot of fun things to learn about from a profile. You can check out friends, read validations and other enlightening morsels of information. Photos are fun to check out in general and not always there for sexual titillation. Just chill out and relax. Chillax even. If a guy views your profile, it’s not the end of the world.

The Dude Thinks You’re Hot

OK. So it is possible that a guy who viewed your profile thinks you’re the bees knees and gets some amount of daily joy checking out pics of your fabulously defined pectoral muscles, but so what? It’s unlikely that you’re going to end up bed buddies because (God forbid) he laid eyes on your naked upper body. Just think of all the straight girls who are routinely drooled over by virtually everyone on RHP. Do they complain. Nay. They either deal with it, or enjoy it. If you’re going to flaunt it, learn to take the perving as flattery or keep it in your private gallery. Poo to that, I say!

I'm straight as they come and I agree with tankgirl, "harden up homophobes".

Yes there can be many reasons why anyone on here views anyone! Nature of the beast, and curiosity! If it goes places beyond that, well there are tools to deal with it. Otherwise, chill!  :) Hehe, you never know it could be some hot chick, at her bf's viewing from his act! Have a good one!

..take it as a compliment, someone thinks you're attractive/smart whatever  :) I'm sure it's better than no one looking at it?

Also, there are plenty of guys who post themselves as "straight", but then have MMF(bi) listed in interests, or who wink/msg guys anyway. I suspect some do not want to advertise as bi in case it scares some girls/couples away. Whatever... it IS a meet/suck/fuck site. You cant REALLY be offended - can you?

Even the girls get a bit creeped out by the constant pageviews/flirts from a person they find undesirable... Would a solution be to use the block list for those who just dont get the hint?

dude get over it... guys just wanna see what they are competing against and see what is a good template or style to construct a profile. But the ones who flirt and message, guess that is a an issue.

Perhaps if guys were more specific about what they were looking for (female, couple etc) instead of selecting males (as many do) they wouldn't have so many guys check there profile out.

Happens to me a little bit. It's no big deal, I'm asking for it given my profile picture. Most blokes who get offended by it are probably afraid they might enjoy it.

It's not the viewing I mind it's being propositioned when my profile clearly states I am straight
