Most "Actresses" start off dancing and modeling first. Essentially through these places you will make connections. Don't forget, the more exposure you have the better your chances of sucess. Look into posing for "Picture" and "People" magazines. You will make a few dollars and in the process will gain exposure (Excuse the pun). Those in the industry often scout for talent through these magazines. Word of caution, do your due diligence before signing anything, and be ever watchful of the sharks. Yeah at the very least you need a portfolio.  It's not hard to find a guy with a decent SLR that enjoys taking photos of naked women (I know, I'm one of them!  LOL!) But yeah, basically what the first reply said is going to be your best advice.  Not only will you get the exposure and contacts you need, but it's also a good introduction for yourself to work out if you really have what it takes. Big issues like 'I have to do what!?'  'But I don't like that guy' and 'how do I feel about someone who knows me seeing me' will confront you pretty quickly. Until you get to high level stuff don't expect to get paid all that much.  Unless you're something really special or well marketed (you'll need a manager) you'll make much better money in strip clubs. Good luck with it, but realise it's a long, hard road and not just 'Hi!  I'm hot and I can fuck!  Gimme a million dollar contract to film it!' And sorry, I'm not in the industry.  I do artisitic photography.  I know people who are, but they wouldn't be willing to 'waste their time' with you.  I know that sounds harsh, but get used to hearing that.

As I don't think it's legal to produce porn in Australia. Someone may know better but this would account for there being hardly any Aussie porn stars and porn companies.

Why not try setting up a webpage and doing photos graphs first. Do them for free, see how it goes and the start to produce on a daily basis and charge. Once a client databse has been setup there is nothing stopping you.

This way you'll have a profile, a business sense and you can easily market yourself to the major producers such as hustler, sin productions, private etc..

There is a web site called Adultstaffing.com. It has jobs and a lot of other interesting info about the porn industry. It covers Australia too but there aren't ever any jobs listed. There are different porn movie companies in Australia. I can't remember one right now but there is one in Canberra.

get a ozmodels account and try and get some work that way :) if you are super serious about it doing cam modeling on things like myfree cams and stuff and get a fan base up might be the way to go aswell
