Being able to do a couple of "Push ups" is a relatively easy thing to learn.
I am interested to know why you PT can't assist you.
Having said that, I have met with some wrists which were medically unsuitable for the activity

It can be frustrating that's for sure when you're doing all you can and don't seem to be getting there..The 1st thing that came to mind is you've the use and experience of a Personal Trainer why don't you ask them ? They should know ..
If you don't wear wrist supports it probably will be a good idea to get and use some..They will give you that little extra help in doing push ups too..
A fun way would be to lie on your back get your Playmates to lay over you when you've got your arms extended but elbows bent a little .You use them as weights your Partner can help with the spring action by using their feel to push up and down...
This will exercise your arms muscles upper and lower ..If you tire they fall on you then you can enjoy very sensual kissing more he!he!..Enjoy Lu :)..
My PT focuses on my whole body fitness. I don't want to waste the sessions just building strength for push ups, but would like to do some stuff outside of the gym to work up to them.

What you said about pecs, biceps and triceps is interesting. I think my pecs have always been the problem - very, very weak. My arms seem to respond to weights really well but I never seem to make much progress with my pecs. I shall follow your advice, thank you x

There are many forms of push ups, so maybe if you start off with the varied and less strenous ones til you get stronger in the wrists or other areas.
you can do what they call ladies push ups, instead of the whole body it is from the knees, or even easier still is upright, a distance away from the wall and do them that way, , making it a bit harder each time it gets easier to do that particular exercise, and gradually before you know it you will have progressed to the point you can do the proper one.

No I cant do them and never could....as I was young I was always wondering why I couldnt do push ups or situps...until I found out. Everything what pulls my wrists is not posssible for a long time either.
You just get so used to your body so you never think it is something wrong. And I mean there is nothing wrong with an amzing body, the body just made other helpful things to compat this deformaty and its emazing my hand and wrists function.
You will do other things to get fit......lol. Beautiful what ever you do.
