The we love vinyl thread...

May 28, 2012
I was listening to some old albums while i was doing the dishes this morning.  I had a thought...

Here's the deal.. Post an album title (as in black vinyl 12" disc) that you  remember owning.  also mention a song from that album in the comment. Post more  than one if you wish, but only after someone else has posted  after your last comment please.  That way we don't get a bunch of consecutive stuff all the same..

Lets see what we remember about our old record collections (I still have mine)..

Talking heads ? All you oldies must like them ;)

Ahhh the perfect thread! I'm a bit of a crazy record collector however for more accessible pop music, I have always loved talking heads. Also great artwork. Their speaking in tounges LP is great. In particular this must be the place (naive melody)

As a teenager, I did casual work as a party DJ.

I still have a huge vinyl collection. I'll start with my all time favourite ;

Title track from Meatloaf's 'Bat Out Of Hell' album.

Vinyl

Tom Waits....... Blue Valentine....... the songs that resonate for me are 'Blue Valentine' and 'Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis'.....................the scratches, pops and jumps of the LP on the turntable just adds to the 'feel' of Waits voice and music.....

old favourite

Pinched from my parents and still like it today

Nancy and Lee  - lady bird
                          summer wine

Just like them both as much as each other a duet with a woman and a man always did a little thing for me but going through time so many and such difference

Will have to get through the attic and see whats up there lol

Album and track

WOW, which one do I pick. Used to own over 1000 vinyl albums, most overseas pressing or limited editions as the quality was better. Then, divorce happened and she kept the lot. later found out, she kept them only so she could throw them all out. What a waste.

cant choose between:-

Frampton Comes Alive, Do You Feel Like We Do
Led Zep 4, Stairway To Heaven, and
Ten Years After - I'm Going Home.

Soooooooooo many others I could choose too.
