Short Stay Hotels

One problem I've noticed when trying to arrange assignations in the Launceston area is ... where? For obvious reasons, either party is usually reluctant to use their home. One of the obvious options is a motel. Does anyone know of a motel around Launceston that offers 'short stay' rates. I know this is quite common in larger cities. Sometimes it's quite official, especially for 'business purposes'. Other times it might involve a nudge and a wink and some cash in hand to the right staff member. When arranging a hookup with a lady friend a couple of years ago, she mentioned that one of the hotels near City Park offered half-day bookings for business meetings (as it happened, we ended up having our 'business meeting' at a third party's residence, discreetly borrowed for the afternoon).

taxi driver advice

I was out last night and asked the taxi driver this question. Apparently the Batty and North Lodge are both used for short stays.

Procedure?

A stirling piece of investigation! One question - did he say how you approach them? ie just front up to the desk, and say, 'hi, my friend and I would like a room for just an hour or so?' or something a little more discreet, lol Perhaps there is a particular desk jockey or bellhop or someone to ask?

re: procedure

I didn't ask. He was looking at me funny :P if I was to consider it, I'd call up first and ask about a short stay for 'mr and mrs smith' - they'd know exactly what you meant. I expect they have set times. like between 10 and 2...which might be why some places enforce the 10am check out and the after 2om check in!

Mr & Mrs Smith

I had a good laugh at that one. How do you do a nudge and a wink down the phone though? :)
