Would love to know why guys dump girls via sms, are they afraid of confrontations?  is it easier? or do they not want the guilt of seeing someone face to face?  Twice it's happened to me now (after meeting them on this site!!).  My friends are having the same problems with guys in their lives - has sms taken over our lives instead of facing & talking to the people involved??

It is true that SMS is taking over. I too, have been dumped by a female using SMS, so I am not sure it is just the male gender. Good Luck!!!!

i would have to agree with FLIPPER 58. i dont think that the use (or should that be ABUSE) of sms as a device for not dealing with relationships  is  solely  for the use by the male gender! More and more, females are delivering their own severance notices to men via sms. and thats usually only from the ones who havent gone completely RAMBO! for the women who have gone completely RAMBO a man would consider himself lucky to have been spat on if he was on fire!

Sounds damn efficient and face saving to me. Who needs false flattery when receiving negative news. This site is hardly about deep and meaningfuls anyway, so txt messages seems to fit the mood of casual/short term encounters.

Yep its a fact of todays society that its happening and going to get worse. Its the same as when you send winks to women and they reply with a IVE GOT SOME FREE TIME MESSAGE ME  then when you do message them they dont even reply back or email you when you message ya email addy. Whats happening with them.  Its truly abuse of both systems

SMS dumpings in today's society

No offence to all the posts above but most of you very wrong about it being todays society as I myself would be classed in that field being a young 23yr old guy, its simply because whoever is sending it  dont want to deal with the drama involved and dont want to man up and do it face to face. Its all to do with the faceless rejection and the ability and ease to go "Well guess what? its over" with out having to then have a talk about it and see the amount of hurt to the other person.

Its a guilt free get out of prison card.

SMS is being used by both men and women for ending anything.

It's the natural graduation from dating sites and email chat.
We can reply whenever, and think about what we are going to say.

And besides, you can't hear the new person they are with in the background with an SMS.
So..... sneaky is as sneaky does.

It seems now that SMS or facebook are the way to communicate to others. Why can't people have to guts to do things in person anymore.
Certainly not the appropriate way to do things.
