Of course, no details in the profile. No validations. No verification. Cock shot. Profile says see photos for their 'looks'... but no pics...

Are we too blunt just saying the reply we gave: 'no thanks', or should we have given a reason, explanation, and/or tried to find out more?

Our initial thoughts were always like, WTF!!!


Though the decision was Always Kj's to make, for me

to stand in the way would be somewhat hypocritical.

I got a message last night, addressed to someone else. Another 40yr old Brisbane woman (I checked out her profile and she does seem lovely! lol).

So I kindly replied to the sender, advising him that perhaps he should amend his greeting next time so that he actually addresses the right person, and wished him luck with the other woman!

I like to think I'm being polite in giving a reason for rejection... And most of the time it's an utter failure to read through THE FIRST LINE of my profile and see that I am not looking for men on here. Perspective...

You've gone to  a lot of effort with your profile stating exactly what you want.  Perhaps what they thought they had in "common" with you was they live in the same state? I read somewhere that there are something like 1300 profiles on here that aren't real people? Blunt is the way to go. Then if they ask why you have the choice of going into it or not. Someday soon some people are going to realise that serious couples give incomplete profiles the flick... Well our fingers are crossed for that anyway.

No, not at all. Just think, if you had let him/them have it, it would give them something to complain about here in the forums. If you had ignored them completely, they could post on the "why no reply?" thread. You'd be doing them a favour by giving them something to do other than sending nuisance messages.
