A Question of Manners?

Aug 11, 2012

How much value do we put on manners these days?  Do they get misinterpreted?  Is there a misperception that just because one uses them, they lack balls or the ability to be abruptly direct if the situation calls for it?  Can an alpha-male also be a gentleman?

I realise this is a ‘sex site’, and deep down all we want is to be tied to the bedpost and ravished for hours of unbridled, animalistic lust, but is it not fun to mask this with a cheeky vale of social formalities? I definitely enjoy pretending I’m doing a good job hiding these dirty instinctual desires!  What do you think?

I don't like deception

But I do love manners and civility. I don't like being played and have a damned good radar for that, so if a man is putting on airs to get into my pants he doesn't stand a chance. A man with a sense of courtesy, some old fashioned, gentlemanly manners though, that's a bit wow and yum.  Manners usually hint at decency, and I like decency a lot :)

Vale

Do you mean being "naughty and nice" , that you're a gentlemen outside and a naughty boy behind closed doors?  If that's what you mean, I'll take a double dose Mr Capricorn ;)  I specifically mention manners in my profile, just in case there is any confusion that NSA sex does not mean ," I can be a rude ass" . I'm with Hesione , I always say please when I ask for seconds :P Minxy xx

umm

isnt this more about a lack of honesty or even respect than the lack of manners?  being polite doesnt mean being deceptive, at least not in our understanding of the word.  and you should always be a gentleman,  whether you are an 'alpha male' or not, lol...  rudeness and dishonesty marks people as things other than 'alpha'

HiSamantha

Manners go hand in hand with respect

If both parties are privey to what is going on then either party can make an informed decision.  It is when the other party (in my case the male), not being totally honest.  It is rude keeping a woman waiting for a datem especially when you have stood her up once before.  My mother would say that showed a very lack of manners and that this guy was not worth my energy.  I am to believe this as well, we treat others to how we want to be treated.  Good manners or respect, don't cost anything.  So the next time someone is thinking of being rude to someone else, they need to think about if the tables were turned.

Respect doesn't go astray

A bit of common courtesy and respect doesn't go astray, I think most normal people like that even when fulfilling one's carnal desires
